MSDMA Recruitment 2026 – Apply Offline for Structural Mitigation Specialist, Assistant Structural Engineer Posts

The Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority (MSDMA) has two contractual posts for its Mitigation Project Management Division (MPMD): Structural/Infrastructure Mitigation Specialist (Structural Engineer) and Assistant Structural Engineer. About MSDMA

The Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority is part of the Government of Meghalaya and works under the Revenue and Disaster Management Department. Its office is at Lower Lachaumiere, Shillong. The form is titled “Application Form for Specialist/Assistant in the Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority (MSDMA)”. It asks for:

• the post applied for and a recent passport-size photograph;
• your name in capital letters, your father’s, mother’s or spouse’s name, sex, date of birth and age;
• your date of retirement, and your designation and department at retirement (if applicable);
• your category (SC/ST/OBC/General/Any Other), contact addresses and present occupation;
• your education and experience, both in reverse chronological order. The experience part covers the period (From/To), nature of work and accomplishments;
• trainings, publications (if any) and any other information;
• references (name, designation, institution, address, e-mail and phone number);
• a signed and dated declaration. In it you confirm that your information is correct and that the Selection Committee will check your documents for Essential Qualification and Work Experience at the time of selection.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

No other allowances will be paid on top of the fixed monthly amount for either post. Both posts are based at SDMA, Shillong.

Structural/Infrastructure Mitigation Specialist (Structural Engineer)

• Qualification: Master’s Degree (M.E./M.Tech) in Structural Engineering/ Earthquake Engineering/ Infrastructure Engineering/ Disaster Mitigation Engineering from a recognized university/institution.
• Experience: at least 1 year in the field, with knowledge of AutoCAD.

Assistant Structural Engineer

• Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Structural Engineering/ Earthquake Engineering/ Infrastructure Engineering/ Disaster Mitigation Engineering from a recognized university/institution.
• Experience: at least 1 year in the field, with knowledge of AutoCAD.

Age Limit

The age limit in the eligibility criteria is 18 – 32 years.

Terms of Engagement

• Both posts are contractual. The engagement is for 1 (one) year and may be extended or curtailed depending on requirement and satisfactory performance.
• The work is full-time. Those engaged may not take up any other assignment while engaged with SDMA.

MSDMA Recruitment 2026 Job Description

Structural/Infrastructure Mitigation Specialist (Structural Engineer)

• Provide technical expertise in the planning, design, and implementation of structural mitigation projects funded under NDMF/SDMF.
• Preparation of Project Pre-Feasibility Reports including cost estimates.
• Conducting technical assessments, including geotechnical and hazard-specific studies, and recommend safe, resilient design solutions.
• Design of appropriate mitigation measures.
• Prepare/review/vet DPRs, drawings, and technical specifications for compliance with BIS/NBC/NDMA standards.
• Support quality control and monitoring during project execution.
• Document best practices, case studies, and technical reports for resilient infrastructure.
• Provide technical inputs for capacity-building workshops on structural mitigation and resilient construction practices.
• Any other matters as required by SDMA.

Assistant Structural Engineer

• To assist the Structural/Infrastructure Mitigation Specialist as per the scope of work.
• Any other matters as required by SDMA.

Selection Process

An Interview Committee makes the selection for both posts, and its decision is final and binding on all candidates. Your documents for Essential Qualification and Work Experience will be assessed by the Selection Committee at the time of selection.
