Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: M.F.Sc. (Aquatic Environment Management / Fisheries Resource Management / Fish Physiology & Biochemistry / Aquaculture / Fish Quality Assurance and Management / Fish Processing Technology / Fisheries Technology and Fishing Engineering / Fish Nutrition and Feed Technology / Fish pathology and Health Management / Fish Biotechnology / M.Sc. Marine Biology / Zoology / Equivalent etc.,; Ph.D. in the concerned discipline

Other conditions:

• The job involves halting during visit to fish landing centres in selected fishing villages
• Selected candidates may be required to travel in sea for water, sediment and fish sample collection regularly

Desirable:

• Hands on experience in water and sediment sample collection and laboratory analysis
• To collect data and fish specimens from fish landing centres and their identification
• To carry out aquatic biodiversity assessment and analysis
• Heavy metals analysis with AAS

Who Cannot Apply for TNJFU Recruitment 2026

• Candidates who do not send a Certificate or Provisional Certificate for Graduation and Post Graduation will have their application rejected.

TNJFU Senior Research Fellow (SRF) Job Description

• The selected candidate is to be engaged in fish sampling in the fish landing centres, data collection and analysis.
• Carry out laboratory work on water and sediment sample analysis.
• Plankton sample collection and identification.
• Recording the occurrence, abundance data and morphometric measurements of collected fish specimen from the fish landing centres for biodiversity assessment.
• Collect water and sediment samples from near shore and territorial waters.
• Paper writing and report compilation.
• Any other scientific/technical jobs assigned from time to time.
• The job involves halting during visits to fish landing centres in selected fishing villages. The selected candidates may be required to travel in sea for water, sediment and fish sample collection regularly. Further, boat trip is required to be carried out for water and sediment sample collection.
