NCPOR Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 – Walkin

National Centre for Polar & Ocean Research (NCPOR) has officially released the Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 notification (Advt. No. NCPOR/ 2026/ 07) for 4 vacancies. Eligible candidates with a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology with at least 60% marks and qualification in CSIR-UGC NET/ GATE/ Ph.D., aged up to 28 years, can attend the walk-in interview on 11 September 2026. Selected candidates will be appointed on a temporary basis with a monthly salary of Rs. 37,000 plus HRA.

NCPOR Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF-01 to 03):
  • Master’s degree in Geophysics/ Marine Geophysics/ Applied Geology/ Applied Geophysics/ Marine Geophysics or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 60% marks.
  • CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) / Ph. D Only or GATE qualified.
  • Work/ research experience in the field of marine geological/ geophysical data analysis. Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Fortran / Python / C++ / MATLAB etc.
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF-02):
  • Master’s degree in Marine Science/ Oceanography/ Physical Oceanography/ Atmospheric Science/ Oceanography/ Physical Oceanography or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology in the relevant subject from a recognized university or equivalent with at least 60% marks.
  • CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) / Ph. D Only or GATE qualified.
  • Experience in Oceanographic and atmospheric data analysis and numerical modelling. Experience in programming such as MATLAB/ Python/ FERRET etc.
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF-03):
  • Master’s degree in Chemistry/ Marine Chemistry/ Chemical Oceanography / Marine Sciences/ Hydrochemistry/ Environmental Sciences or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 60% marks.
  • CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) / Ph. D Only or GATE qualified.
  • Work/ research experience in the field of chemical oceanography, marine sciences and marine chemistry / geochemistry. Hands-on experience with sample preparation and analysis of seawater for chemical composition, including Nutrients, dissolved trace gases, trace metals, and their isotopes.

• Age relaxation is applicable for OBC candidates as per Government of India norms.
