NSRY Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

  • Shortlisting for Interview: Preliminary selection is made on the basis of a merit list drawn up trade- and category-wise, based on the aggregate percentage of marks obtained in the ITI trade and in Std X (10th). Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview at the Apprentice Training School, NSRY, Sri Vijaya Puram, carrying 50 marks, which tests technical skills in the respective trade. Call letters are issued to eligible candidates via their registered email ID after scrutiny of documents.
  • Final Merit List: Prepared by considering interview marks. In case of a tie with the same marks, the candidate’s date of birth is compared (the elder candidate is placed higher); further ties are resolved by the alphabetical order of the first name, then middle name, then surname, as per the Std X certificate.
  • Document Verification: Candidates must produce original documents before registration, including SSC/Matriculation Marks Certificate, ITI Certificate & final consolidated marksheet (NCVT/SCVT), Aadhaar Card, and Caste/PwD/Ex-Serviceman/NCC/Sports Certificates, where applicable.
  • Medical Examination: All applicants must obtain a medical fitness certificate from a Government Hospital or Government Medical Officer.
  • Mere submission of the online application form, or receipt of an acknowledgement, does not guarantee enrolment. Final selection is based on the merit list, available vacancies category-wise, scrutiny of original credentials, and the medical test.

After completing the apprenticeship, every full-term apprentice must appear for a trade test conducted by the respective Apprentice School or an agency authorized by the Central Government, to determine proficiency in the trade. Apprentices who pass are issued a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) by the Director General of Training (DGT). NSRY is not obligated to offer employment after training completion, nor is the apprentice obligated to accept any employment offered.
