Kodagu District Court Educational Qualification
Typist
Pass in 2nd PUC conducted by the Karnataka Department of Pre-University Education, or a 3-year Diploma in Commercial Practice, or an equivalent qualification (CBSE/ICSE Class 12, other state board Class 12, NIOS Senior Secondary course, or a 3-year diploma/2-year ITI/2-year vocational diploma combined with the specified NIOS language and subject courses), obtained by the last date for applying. In addition, a pass in the Senior Grade Typewriting examination (Kannada and English) conducted by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board, or a Diploma in Secretarial Practice, or equivalent, is required. Computer knowledge is essential, and as per High Court orders, the Kannada and English typing tests will be conducted on computer using the “Kwenpu-Nudi” Kannada typing keyboard layout.
Driver
Pass in SSLC or equivalent, and a current Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence.
Process Server
Pass in SSLC or equivalent. Preference is given to candidates holding a Heavy or Light Motor Vehicle driving licence.
Peon/Attender
Pass in SSLC or equivalent, with the ability to read and write Kannada.
For all four posts, candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results are not eligible to apply, and no qualification other than those specified will be considered.
Kodagu District Court Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years as on the last date for submitting applications
- Maximum age – General candidates: 40 years
- Maximum age – Category 2(A), 2(B), 3(A), 3(B): 43 years
- Maximum age – SC/ST/Category-1: 45 years
- A one-time 5-year relaxation in the maximum age limit applies as per Government Order dated 29-01-2026, subject to the ceilings above after adjustment
- Further age relaxations apply for government/local-authority/corporation employees, ex-servicemen, NCC cadet instructors, Grama Sujaga Parishilakas, persons with disability (10 years), Census enumerators, widows (10 years), and released bonded labourers (10 years), as specified in the notifications

Fees must be paid online only, through the SBI e-Pay Payment Portal linked on the court website, via net banking, credit card, debit card, UPI, or QR code. Cash, Demand Draft, Postal Order, Money Order, and Challan are not accepted. Applications with unpaid fees will be rejected, and paid fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.
Kodagu District Court Selection Process
Typist
Selection is based on the percentage of marks scored in the qualifying examination, marks scored in a computer typewriting skill test (typing a given 15-minute passage), and interview marks. The qualifying test carries a maximum of 100 marks with 50 as the minimum to pass, and the interview carries a maximum of 5 marks.
Driver
Selection is through a driving test and an interview, conducted per the Karnataka Subordinate Courts Rules; shortlisted candidates attend at their own expense.
Process Server
Candidates are shortlisted for interview in a 1:25 ratio per notified post/category, based on percentage of marks in the qualifying examination. The interview carries a maximum of 10 marks, and final selection is based on interview marks.
Peon/Attender
Candidates are shortlisted for interview in a 1:10 ratio per notified post/category, based on percentage of marks in the qualifying examination. The interview carries a maximum of 10 marks.
How to Apply Online for Kodagu District Court Recruitment 2026
- Visit the official website, https://kodagu.dcourts.gov.in/online-recruitment/, and select the relevant recruitment link.
- Register with a valid, currently active mobile number and email ID – the court is not responsible if candidates cannot be reached via SMS or email due to incorrect details.
- Fill in the online application form completely and accurately; incomplete or incorrect applications will be rejected.
- Upload a scanned colour passport photograph (5 cm x 3.6 cm, under 50 KB, .jpg format, white background, unsigned) and a scanned signature in black ballpoint pen on white paper (2.5 cm x 7.5 cm, under 25 KB, .jpg format).
- Upload a clear scanned copy, in PDF format, of the qualifying examination marks card (2nd PUC/equivalent for Typist; SSLC/equivalent for Driver, Process Server, and Peon).
- Pay the application fee online through the SBI e-Pay Payment Portal before the deadline.
- Submit the application, then download and retain a copy of the submitted application and fee receipt until the recruitment process is complete; produce it at the time of the skill test/interview.
- Candidates should apply well before the last date, without waiting until the deadline.
Only one application per candidate is allowed; if more than one is submitted, only the last one is considered valid and the rest are rejected. No information can be edited after submission. Applications submitted through any mode other than online will not be considered.
Kodagu District Court Recruitment 2026 – Important Instructions
- Candidates claiming reservation must hold the prescribed certificates (Form-D for SC/ST, Form-E for Category-1, Form-F for Categories 2A/2B/3A/3B) valid as on the last date for applying, issued by the concerned Tahsildar with signature, seal, or bar code/hologram/watermark.
- Candidates claiming rural reservation must hold certificates countersigned by the Head Master and the concerned Block Education Officer.
- Candidates claiming persons-with-disabilities reservation must hold a medical certificate in the prescribed format (per Government notification dated 19-11-2005) from a District-level Medical Board.
- Ex-servicemen claiming reservation must hold their discharge/release certificate from military service by the last date.
- Candidates already employed in State/Central Government or public sector undertakings must mention their service details in the application and, if selected, furnish a No-Objection Certificate from their department.
- Candidates must obtain conduct certificates from two respectable persons and their last educational institution, within 6 months of the application date.
- Selected candidates will be on probation for two years, as per the Karnataka Civil Services (Probation) Rules, 1977, and must pass the prescribed departmental examinations and the Kannada language examination during this period.
- Selected candidates will be covered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS).
- Candidates called for interview/skill test attend at their own expense; those not selected have no claim for correspondence with the court regarding the selection.
- Post-wise and category-wise details are subject to revision as per government orders issued from time to time.
- If information or certificates furnished by a candidate are found false or fabricated during document verification, the candidature/selection will be cancelled and criminal prosecution may follow.
- Special note: the recruitment order issued pursuant to these notifications is subject to the final orders of the Hon’ble Karnataka High Court in W.P. Nos. 200448/2025, 17968/2025, and 3145/2023.
