GMC Nalgonda Vacancy 2026 – Department-Wise Post Details

GMC Nalgonda has announced 57 vacancies across Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Tutor, and Civil Assistant Surgeon posts, distributed over 12 departments. The department-wise breakup is given below. The notification also states that vacancy numbers may vary, decrease, or increase in accordance with administrative changes.

Note: The notification also states that in the absence of MBBS doctors, candidates holding an M.Sc in Medical Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Microbiology, or Pharmacology with a Ph.D. will be considered.

GMC Nalgonda Eligibility Criteria 2026

Eligibility differs by post, covering academic qualification, teaching/research experience, and medical council registration.

For the Emergency Medicine department specifically, prior teaching experience in General Surgery, Anaesthesia, Respiratory Medicine, Orthopaedics, or General Medicine will be counted, and the selected faculty member must complete the prescribed faculty development programme within two years of appointment.

GMC Nalgonda Educational Qualification

All posts require an MBBS degree as the base qualification, with Associate Professor and Assistant Professor posts additionally requiring an MD/MS/DNB in the relevant subject as per NMC’s TEQ Regulation 2022. Outside-state candidates must get their qualification registered with the Telangana State Medical Council within one week of selection for their appointment to be confirmed. DNB candidates will be selected as per the latest NMC guidelines.

GMC Nalgonda Age Limit

• Teaching posts (Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Tutor): below 69 years as on 31.03.2026
• Non-teaching post (Civil Assistant Surgeon): below 45 years as on 31.03.2026
• Retired teaching faculty of the Government of Telangana or other government bodies are not eligible for contract appointment

GMC Nalgonda Salary / Consolidated Pay

Selected candidates will be paid a fixed consolidated monthly remuneration as per G.O.Rt.No.98, Finance (HRM.VII) Department, dated 11.03.2024. The remuneration is all-inclusive and subject to tax deduction at source and other statutory deductions.

GMC Nalgonda Application Fee

Candidates must pay an application fee of ₹500/- (non-refundable) for each application submitted, through a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of the Principal, Government Medical College, Nalgonda.

GMC Nalgonda Selection Process

• For Assistant Professor posts: marks obtained in the MD/MS/DNB postgraduate degree
• For Tutor and CAS posts: marks obtained in the MBBS degree (if marks are not awarded in the qualifying exam, 50% marks will be considered)
• For Associate Professor posts: duration of teaching experience in that cadre
• Final selection is based on merit, duration of teaching experience, and interview
• Rule of Reservation will be followed wherever applicable
• For local candidature, Bonafide/Study conduct certificates from Class 1 to Class 7 will be considered
• Selection is nationwide, with first preference given to local candidates of Multizone-II for Assistant Professor, CAS, and Tutor posts; candidates from other states will be considered only if local candidates are not available

How to Apply for GMC Nalgonda Recruitment 2026

This recruitment does not use an online application portal. Candidates must apply offline, in person, by following these steps.

1. Download the application form from the official website, www.gmcnalgonda.in.
2. Fill in the application form completely in block letters, and paste a recent self-attested passport-size photograph in the space provided.
3. Attach one attested photocopy each of all the documents listed in the Documents Required section.
4. Submit the filled application, along with the Demand Draft for the application fee, at the Office of the Principal, Government Medical College, Nalgonda, between 05-09-2026 and 10-09-2026, on all working days up to 2:00 PM.
5. Retain a copy of the submitted application and keep original certificates ready for the certificate verification stage on 28-09-2026.

Incomplete applications will not be entertained.

GMC Nalgonda Recruitment 2026 – Important Instructions

• This is a purely temporary, contract-basis appointment up to 31.03.2027, or till the actual need ceases, or till the regular posts are filled, whichever is earlier; it does not confer any right to future government appointment.
• Selected faculty are eligible for 15 days of leave per calendar year, on a cumulative basis.
• If a selected candidate does not join, the next eligible merit candidate will be selected.
• The selected candidate must submit a relieving order from their previous institute, failing which the selection stands cancelled.
• Candidates already working on contract in the same cadre at any other Government Medical College in Telangana are not eligible to apply.
• On selection, candidates must submit a bond on Rs.100 stamp paper, duly notarised, to the Principal, GMC Nalgonda. Breaking the bond requires paying three months’ salary or giving one month’s prior notice.
• The contract may be terminated at any time with one month’s notice during the tenure period, if any misconduct is noticed.
• The engaged faculty will be at the disposal of the institute on a whole-time basis, and their services may be utilised in any manner required by the Competent Authority without additional remuneration claims.
• Wilful submission of wrong information is liable for criminal action; candidates must submit a self-declaration at the time of joining that no criminal cases are pending against them.
• Selected candidates must join duties within one week of selection.
• The decision of the selection committee is final and binding.
