Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 40 years. SC, ST, OBC and women candidates get 5 years of relaxation as per CG Government rules.

Minimum Qualification (Agricultural Statistics)

• Master’s Degree in the relevant subject of Agriculture with 55% or equivalent grade 6.50 on a 10.0 scale, with a good academic record.
• Candidates with a Master’s degree must also have passed NET (National Eligibility Test) for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor and equivalent, in the discipline in which NET is conducted. They also need one publication in a refereed journal related to NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi).
• Ph.D. holders do not need NET if the Ph.D. was done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulation 2009. They must also have at least two full-length publications with a NAAS rating of not less than 4 on the last date of submission of the application.
• A Ph.D. without course work does not qualify for the NET exemption.

If no eligible candidate is available, the college may, in extreme cases of exigency, consider PG candidates as part-time teachers on a period basis. This would be for only one semester and needs approval from the competent authority.

Selection Process

Selection is by interview before a committee. The interview follows the university’s 2019 guidelines and norms. The venue is the College of Agriculture, IGKV, Raipur (C.G.). Bring all your original documents for verification on the interview day. Candidates without them will not be allowed to appear. Canvassing in any form leads to disqualification. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

After the committee selects a candidate, the candidate must submit an affidavit on stamp paper of Rs. 50/- in the prescribed format, agreeing to the terms and conditions set by the Vishwavidyalaya.

Service Conditions

• The appointment is contractual. It lasts for one academic session or until a regular teacher is appointed, whichever comes first.
• The post is purely temporary. The selected candidate has no right to claim a regular appointment to any post advertised by IGKV, Raipur.
• Guest Teachers handle teaching, examinations, laboratory work, sports, cultural activities and any other work assigned from time to time.
• If performance is unsatisfactory, services can be ended with one week’s notice.
• Anyone whose claimed credentials turn out to be false will be removed.
