Himachal Pradesh Jal Shakti Vibhag is the state government department responsible for drinking water, irrigation, and related infrastructure across Himachal Pradesh. Under this recruitment process, the Jal Shakti Division Reckong Peo in District Kinnaur engages local personnel for the upkeep and operation of departmental Rest Houses and Inspection Huts in line with the department’s Para Policy.

Completed application forms on the prescribed proforma, along with all requisite self-attested documents, must be submitted either in person or by post to the following address on or before 07 November 2026 up to 5:00 PM:

The prescribed application proforma can be obtained from the office of the Executive Engineer on any working day or downloaded from the official departmental website (https://jsv.hp.nic.in/). Applications received after the deadline or found incomplete will be rejected straight away without assigning any reason. The department will not be responsible for delay in receipt of application due to any reason. Candidates who wish to apply for more than one post must submit a separate application form for each post.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

General Eligibility Conditions

• Must be a citizen of India.
• Must be a Bonafide Himachali.
• Must possess a sound mind.
• No family member of the candidate should be employed in any kind of Government, PSU, or Board job.
• Must have never been involved in any act of a criminal nature.
• Must be medically fit to perform duties.
• Must be a permanent resident of the area under Jal Shakti Circle, Reckong Peo, Distt. Kinnaur (HP).
• Age Limit: 18 to 45 years.

Educational Qualification and Experience

• Para Cook: The candidate should have passed the matriculation examination from a School/Institution situated within Himachal Pradesh (the condition of passing 10th from a Himachali School shall not be applicable to Bonafide Himachali). In addition, the candidate must possess a degree/diploma in any trade from a Government-approved Hotel Management Institute/Institute of Hotel Management or Food Production Institute, OR a minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in Cooking/catering from any Government or private institution.
• Para Helper: The candidate should have passed the matriculation examination from the Board/University recognized by the H.P./Central Government (the condition of passing 10th from a Himachali School shall not be applicable to Bonafide Himachali).

HP Jal Shakti Vibhag Recruitment 2026 Job Description

• Operation and upkeep of Rest Houses/Inspection Huts on Honorarium basis as per norms fixed in the Para Policy of Jal Shakti Vibhag.
• All works assigned to him/her relating to their respective field(s).
• Any other duties assigned by the officers/official concerned.
• The working hours of incumbents shall be 6 hours per day.

• Matriculation certificate showing details marks obtained (in case the candidate does not submit detailed mark sheet, his/her application will be rejected).
• Degree/Diploma in any trade from Government approved Hotel Management Institute/Institute of Hotel Management or Food Production Institute or minimum 5(five) years experience in cooking/catering from any Government or private institution (applicable to Para Cook only).
• Bonafide Himachali certificate.
• Non Employment Certificate regarding no family member of the candidate is employed in any kind of Government/PSU/Board Job.
• Valid Character Certificate issued by the 1st class Magistrate.
• BPL Certificate issued not later than six months (if any).
• Experience Certificate in the related field (if any).
• SC/ST/OBC/EWS Certificate issued by competent authority as per HP Government time to time notification.
• Medical fitness Certificate.
• Having never been involved in any act of criminal nature.

Selection Process

The selection will be purely on Merit basis. In the selection process marks will be awarded to the candidates out of 10 marks by the selection committee:

The date for the skill test of eligible candidates will be intimated separately after scrutiny of documents papers by the selection committee and No TA/DA will be payable to the applicants for appearing in the skill test.

• The selected incumbent will be paid honorarium at the rate of Rs. 9000/- per month for Para Cook and 5500/- per month for Para Helper.
• These posts will remain honorarium based and will not form part of cadre post of the department and therefore, will not confer any right on the appointees to claim regularization as per current policy of the Government.
• The working hours of incumbents shall be 6 hours per day.
• Unsatisfactory performance may result in termination of appointment by passing an order. The process of termination shall however not be completed unless at least 3 notices have been served upon the incumbent on a specific charge and there has been no improvement in service delivery, the concerned J.E would have substantially put down in written the reasons for such termination and this need to be countersigned by concerned Assistant Engineer based on record.
• A quarterly self reporting format (to be devised by the Jal Shakti Vibhag) would be filled by the Para Cook and Para Helper and submitted to the Junior Engineer concerned. Based on this at the end of every financial year, a consolidated report would be placed (on a format to be devised by the Jal Shakti Vibhag) for the community certification of satisfactory work and conduct. This certificate shall be electronically sent to the concerned Superintending Engineer for the record.
