HP High Court Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Candidates for appointment must be an Indian National and possess requisite education and other qualifications as prescribed under R&P Rules, 2015 as on the date of submission of online application.

HP High Court Qualification

Post Qualification Required
Librarian (Group-C) Graduation with post graduate diploma in Library Science or Bachelor or Master’s degree in Library Science. Must have experience of 3 years as Library Attendant or on higher post in the related field in any reputed organization including public institution.
Peon (Group-D) Must have passed Matriculation from a recognized Board.
Mali (Group-D) Must have passed Matriculation from a recognized Board, along with 3 years’ experience in gardening, etc.
Cook-cum-Attendant (Group-D) Must have passed Matriculation from a recognized Board, along with 3 years’ experience in a govt. undertaking or reputed hotel in cooking. Preference shall be given to persons acquainted with local customs and dialects where to be deployed.

HP High Court Age Limit

Age of the candidates shall be reckoned as on 01.01.2026.

Age Relaxation

*Five years relaxation in upper age limit is admissible only to the bonafide SC, ST, OBC of HP and persons with benchmark disabilities of HP, in case a post is reserved for these categories. Age relaxation for HP Govt. employees is also admissible as per orders/directions of the Hon’ble High Court of H.P. and instructions of the Government of HP issued from time to time.

HP High Court Selection Process

The selection process varies by post group as per R&P Rules, 2015.

Librarian Selection Process

Recruitment is based on a competitive examination as per Schedule-IV (Part-G) of the R&P Rules, 2015. Final Merit List shall be drawn on the basis of marks obtained in the written test.

Group-D Posts Selection Process (Peon, Mali, Cook-cum-Attendant)

Candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio 1:3 for Evaluation/Document Verification on the basis of marks obtained in Matriculation (calculated out of 85 marks based on percentage) and 15 marks awarded for evaluation of documents. Final merit list shall be drawn on the basis of marks obtained in educational qualification and evaluation.

  2. Ensure eligibility in respect of essential qualification, category, age, and experience before applying.
  3. Fill out the online application form with the required personal and educational details.
  4. Upload scanned copies of required documents including photo, signature, matric certificate, ID proof, and other certificates in specified size and formats.
  5. Pay the examination fee through online mode.
  6. Submit the online application form on or before 27 October 2026 at 11:59 PM.
  7. Take a printout or screenshot of the successfully submitted application for your record.

HP High Court Important Instructions

  • Applications are acceptable ONLY IN ONLINE MODE. Applications received through any other mode will be rejected straightway.
  • The experience and qualification shall be reckoned as on the date of submission of online application.
  • Candidates already in government or semi-government service must submit their online application through proper channel along with an NOC addressed to the Registrar General within 15 days from the last date.
  • The category once claimed shall be treated final and no representation will be entertained. Expired category certificates will be considered under the UR category.
  • Re-checking or re-evaluation of answer sheets at any stage is not allowed.
  • Eligible candidates will be informed through SMS alerts and emails regarding test schedules; no separate call letters will be sent by post.
