CPCL Apprentice Eligibility Criteria & Qualification

Additional Eligibility Conditions

• Candidates must hold the prescribed qualification from a recognized institution; no equivalent qualification will be considered.
• Candidates must be registered on the applicable Apprenticeship portal (NAPS or NATS) with 100% profile completion.
• Only candidates who passed their final exams in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible.
• A First Class with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in the qualifying examination is required.
• Candidates awaiting results, or who have already undergone a job/apprenticeship elsewhere for one year or more, are not eligible.

CPCL Apprentice Age Limit

Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 26 years of age as on 01.10.2026. Age relaxation will be given as per Presidential Directives on Reservation.

CPCL Apprentice Salary / Stipend

Stipend varies by trade, ranging from Rs. 4,800 to Rs. 12,300 per month (see the Eligibility table above for trade-wise stipend). For apprentices engaged under NATS, 50% of the total stipend is paid through Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) by the Government.

CPCL Apprentice Selection Process

Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on a merit list prepared using the percentage of marks obtained in the essential qualification applicable to the respective trade. No separate interview or written test is mentioned in the notification.

Documents & Registration Required

• Registration on the applicable Apprenticeship portal – NAPS (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) for Sl. No. 1, 2, 4, 5 & 8, or NATS (nats.education.gov.in) for Sl. No. 3, 6 & 7.
• For NATS candidates, an Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account is required for stipend disbursal; bank seeding status can be checked via the myAadhaar portal.
• Complete profile with all required documents uploaded on the portal.

2. Log in to the respective portal using your User ID/Email ID.

4. Complete and update your profile by uploading all required documents.
5. Submit the application online through the portal before the last date. No other mode of application will be accepted.
