NTPC Assistant Officer Vacancy 2026

Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities will be provided according to Government of India guidelines. NTPC may increase or decrease the number of vacancies according to organisational requirements.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess both of the following full-time qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks from a recognised university or institute.
• A two-year postgraduate degree or postgraduate diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism, Advertising and Communication, Public Relations or a combination of these subjects, with at least 60% marks.

All qualifications must be full-time and obtained from universities or institutions recognised and approved in India.

Marks Relaxation

Where a vacancy is identified for the respective category, SC, ST and PwBD candidates with at least 55% marks in the required qualification are eligible to apply.

Age Limit

The upper age limit for the Assistant Officer post is 29 years. Age will be calculated as on the last date for submitting the online application.

NTPC Assistant Officer Salary

Application Fee

The application fee is non-refundable. Candidates can pay online using net banking, debit card or credit card. Offline payment can also be made through the prescribed SBI pay-in-slip.

Selection Process

NTPC may conduct a multi-stage selection process depending on its requirements. The stages may include:

• Application shortlisting or screening
• Written or computer-based test
• Personal interview

If selection is made through an online test and interview, the final result will carry the following weightage:

Candidates must qualify separately in the written test and interview. The online test will contain a Subject Knowledge Test and an Executive Aptitude Test. Candidates must qualify separately in both sections.

Medical Examination

Selected candidates must undergo a medical examination conducted by the NTPC Medical Board or Medical Officer before joining. No relaxation in the prescribed health standards will be allowed.

Posting Details

Selected candidates may be posted at any NTPC office, station, project, joint venture or subsidiary. The post is transferable at the discretion of NTPC management.

Documents Required

The advertisement lists the following documents for uploading with the online application:

• Class 10 passing certificate or marksheet
• PAN card
• Aadhaar card
• Bachelor’s degree certificate
• Postgraduate degree or postgraduate diploma certificate
• Consolidated marksheet, transcript or all semester marksheets for graduation and postgraduate qualifications
• Marks conversion formula, where grades or CGPA are converted into percentages
• Applicable caste, EWS or disability certificate
• Current financial year OBC-NCL certificate, where applicable
• Current Income and Asset Certificate for EWS applicants
• Disability certificate issued in the prescribed Central Government format through the Swavalamban or UDID portal, where applicable

The candidate’s name and date of birth should match across the Class 10 certificate, PAN card and Aadhaar card.

8. Review the entered information and submit the application.
9. Download the application slip containing the unique application number.
