The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB), Bhopal has released the notification for the Naib Tehsildar Departmental Limited Competitive Examination 2026. This is a limited departmental recruitment exam meant only for eligible serving employees of the Revenue Mandal, Commissioner Land Records, Principal Revenue Commissioner, Divisional Commissioner and Collector establishments – specifically those from the clerical service cadre and the Patwari/Revenue Inspector cadre. The written exam is proposed to be conducted in two shifts on the exam date(s): the first shift from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (reporting between 8:00–9:00 AM) and the second shift from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (reporting between 1:00–2:00 PM). MPESB has stated that the exam schedule may be revised depending on circumstances.

MPESB Naib Tehsildar Vacancy Details 2026

The 73 Naib Tehsildar posts are divided between two separate feeder cadres – candidates from the clerical service cadre compete for one set of posts, while candidates from the Patwari/Revenue Inspector cadre compete for a separate set. Each cadre also has its own backlog posts.

Clerical Service Cadre – Naib Tehsildar (46 posts)

Within the 32 direct-recruitment clerical-cadre posts, 1 post is reserved for persons with locomotor disability (as part of the overall PwD reservation policy), and 35% of posts across categories are horizontally reserved for women.

Patwari/Revenue Inspector Cadre – Naib Tehsildar (27 posts)

As per the notification, 35% of posts are horizontally reserved for women in each category, and this reservation is applied both segment-wise and department-wise. No unfilled women’s-quota post is carried forward – such posts are filled by male candidates of the same category instead.

MPESB Naib Tehsildar Eligibility Criteria

This recruitment is open only to current employees of the specified MP Revenue Department establishments who meet all of the following conditions:

• Currently working on a regular or officiating basis for at least 5 years in a clerical-cadre post, or as a Patwari/Revenue Inspector, in the Revenue Mandal, Commissioner Land Records, Principal Revenue Commissioner, Divisional Commissioner, or Collector establishments (including Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) and Tehsil offices under Collector establishments)
• Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science (including Technical and Engineering), Commerce, or Agriculture from a recognised university
• Maximum age as on 1 January 2026 should not exceed 55 years
• A candidate cannot appear in this exam under this scheme more than three times

Candidates must possess the minimum educational qualification on the date of submitting the application; qualifications acquired after this date will not be considered for eligibility.

MPESB Naib Tehsildar Age Limit

The maximum age limit for this departmental limited competitive exam is 55 years as on 1 January 2026. Since this is a departmental recruitment restricted to existing employees, the usual category-wise age relaxations applicable to open recruitment do not apply here – the 55-year cap itself is the eligibility ceiling.

MPESB Naib Tehsildar Salary

Selected candidates will be placed at Pay Level-9 of the Madhya Pradesh Pay Revision Rules, 2017 pay matrix, with a starting basic pay of ₹36,200 plus applicable Dearness Allowance. The corresponding pay band under the earlier (6th CPC-based) structure was ₹9,300–₹34,800 with Grade Pay ₹3,600. The overall pay range for the post is ₹36,200–₹1,14,800 (Level-9).

MPESB Naib Tehsildar Application Fee

The notification does not specify any fee concession for reserved categories under this particular scheme. Fee can be paid online via debit/credit card, net banking, or in cash through an authorised MP Online kiosk.

MPESB Naib Tehsildar Selection Process

Selection is based purely on a written examination consisting of two objective-type papers, each carrying 100 marks and lasting 2 hours.

Candidates need a minimum of 55% marks to qualify; SC and ST candidates need a minimum of 40% marks. Each correct answer carries 1 mark, and 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. Where the exam is conducted across multiple shifts, MPESB uses a Normalised Equi-Percentile scaling method to prepare the merit list.

• Recent colour photograph, signature, and a handwritten declaration (scanned as per MPESB’s specified format)
• 8th/10th/12th mark sheet as proof of date of birth
• Caste/category certificate (for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates) issued by a competent authority
• Disability certificate (for PwD candidates), issued by a competent authority
• Scanned copy of the original appointment order, along with appointment order number, date, and current place of posting
• Aadhaar card number or Aadhaar VID

How to Apply for MPESB Naib Tehsildar Recruitment 2026

1. Visit www.mponline.gov.in and go to Citizen Services → Application → ESB, or use the direct link on www.esb.mp.gov.in.
2. Read the notification, eligibility conditions, and instructions carefully before proceeding.
3. Click Continue to start the online application form and fill in all required personal, educational, and service details accurately.
4. Upload your colour photograph, signature, and handwriting declaration in the specified format, along with your caste/disability certificate and appointment order where applicable.
5. Pay the ₹2,000 application fee (plus applicable portal charge) via debit/credit card, net banking, or an authorised MP Online kiosk.
6. Review the completed form and submit it. Save/print the application form and payment receipt for your records.
7. Use the correction window (17 September–6 October 2026) if you need to fix any error, subject to the applicable correction fee.

Important Instructions

• Only one application form should be submitted per candidate; candidates may indicate a preference/priority order if applying for multiple post options where applicable.
• Aadhaar registration is mandatory, and Aadhaar-based biometric verification will be conducted at the exam centre.
• Candidates must carry the downloaded admit card and an original photo ID (Voter ID, PAN card, Aadhaar card, Driving Licence, or Passport) to the exam hall; e-Aadhaar printouts are not valid unless verified through UIDAI.
• Electronic devices, calculators, smartwatches, and similar items are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.
• No domicile certificate is required for this exam since it is a departmental limited exam for currently serving employees.
• There is no provision for re-checking or re-evaluation of the result once declared.
• The exam city/centre is allotted based on availability against the candidate’s preference and is not open to change requests.
