Ladakh Police Subordinate Service Recruitment Board (LPSSRB) has announced recruitment for 17 vacancies, comprising Fireman, Fireman Driver, Fireman Ministerial, and Sweeper/Safaiwala posts. The notified pay level is Level-2 for Fireman, Fireman Driver, and Fireman Ministerial, and SL-1 for Sweeper/Safaiwala. Eligible candidates who possess a valid Domicile Certificate of the Union Territory of Ladakh can submit their ONLINE applications from 22 October 2026 to 8 November 2026. The selection process includes a Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Endurance Test (PET), scrutiny of original documents, and a written examination or skill test depending on the post.

The Ladakh Police Subordinate Service Recruitment Board has issued Advertisement Notification No. 04 of 2026 dated 19.10.2026 for direct recruitment to Group ‘C’ posts in the Ladakh Fire and Rescue Service under the Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh.

LPSSRB Vacancy 2026

A total of 17 vacancies have been notified across four distinct posts in the Ladakh Fire and Rescue Service.

LPSSRB Category-wise Vacancy 2026

The post-wise and category-wise distribution of vacancies is given below as per the approved operative roster:

Horizontal reservation provides 20% for Ex-Agniveers and 6% for Ex-Servicemen. The provision of 4% horizontal reservation for Outstanding Sportspersons (OSP) has not been applied due to unavailability of posts.

LPSSRB Eligibility Criteria 2026

A candidate applying for any advertised post must possess a valid Domicile Certificate of the Union Territory of Ladakh issued by the competent authority.

The prescribed educational qualification and driving licence must have been acquired on or before the last date fixed for submission of online application forms. Candidates whose qualifying examination result has been declared on or before the cut-off date and who are declared passed may also be considered, subject to production of documentary evidence.

Physical Standards

Physical Measurement Test (PMT) standards apply to Fireman, Fireman Driver, and Fireman Ministerial:

• Male Candidates: Height: 162 cm minimum; Chest: 81 cm unexpanded minimum, 85 cm expanded minimum.
• Female Candidates: Height: 152 cm minimum.

Physical Endurance Test (PET) for Fireman, Fireman Driver, and Fireman Ministerial

Only candidates qualifying the PMT are permitted to appear in the PET. Events are conducted in the following qualifying order:

• Event 1 – Long Race: 1600 meters in 7 minutes for males; 1000 meters in 6 minutes 30 seconds for females.
• Event 2 – Vertical Rope: Climb rope to a minimum height of 4 meters from ground level.
• Event 3 – Load Carrying Test: Carry a weight of 63.5 kg (males) / 50 kg (females) and run a distance of 91.44 meters in 1 minute.
• Event 4 – Bent Knee Sit-Ups: 25 sets in 90 seconds (males); 20 sets in 90 seconds (females). Candidates shall lie face-up on the floor with knees bent and feet flat, stacking their forearms in front of the chest and raise torso back to the starting position.
• Event 5 – Walk on Beam: Walk across a beam secured to the level floor (7 meters long and 8 cm wide) carrying a load of 17 kg (males) / 13 kg (females) in three attempts without falling off or stepping off the beam.

Screening Test (PET) for Sweeper (Safaiwala)

• Male Candidates: Long Race of 1600 meters in 7 minutes and 30 seconds.
• Female Candidates: Long Race of 1000 meters in 7 minutes and 30 seconds.

LPSSRB Age Limit 2026

The age limit shall be reckoned as on 01.01.2026. The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation certificate shall be accepted for determining age eligibility.

LPSSRB Application Fee 2026

The application fee must be paid online via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, or UPI on the Recruitment Application Software (RAS) when submitting the online application form.

Applications received without the prescribed fee shall not be considered valid and will be summarily rejected. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances, nor shall it be adjusted against any other examination or selection. Candidates who made excess payment are advised to apply to the Board with documentary evidence for a refund.

LPSSRB Selection Process 2026

The selection process consists of the following sequential stages:

• Physical Standard Test (PST): Qualifying in nature.
• Physical Endurance Test (PET): Qualifying in nature.
• Scrutiny of original documents/testimonials: Qualifying in nature.
• Computer Test / Driving Test / Trade Test: 50 marks for Fireman Ministerial (Computer Test, 35 wpm typing speed with 90% accuracy; failing disqualifies from further process); 50 marks for Fireman Driver (Driving Test); maximum of 100 marks for Sweeper/Safaiwala (Trade Test, no written exam will be conducted).
• Written Examination: 100 marks for Fireman and Fireman Driver. For Fireman, the general select list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Examination. For Fireman Driver, marks obtained in the driving test (50 marks) are added to the marks obtained in the written examination.

LPSSRB Exam Pattern 2026

The written examination for Fireman and Fireman Driver will be conducted either as an OMR Based Test or Computer Based Test or Tablet Based Test. The question standard is approximately Matriculation level.

The paper comprises objective/MCQ type questions, carrying 1 mark each. The question paper will be in English only. There is no negative marking.

LPSSRB Syllabus 2026

The indicative syllabus for the written examination covers the following topics:

• General Knowledge (60 Marks): Current affairs related to national and international issues; Awareness of the events and developments in society; India – History, Freedom Movement, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, General Polity and Constitution; Awards and Honours (General awareness and current affairs); Sports (General awareness and current affairs); Gender and Weaker Sections (Sensitivity and general awareness); Environmental issues concerning India and World at large; Common Abbreviations; Current Technological Developments in India; Ladakh (History, Art, Culture, Geography and Current Affairs).
• Reasoning (15 Marks): Analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualisation, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, coding-decoding, non-verbal series, number series, alphabet series and number ranking.
• General Science (10 Marks): Basic principles of General Science and Life Science up to 10th Class level.
• Arithmetic Abilities (15 Marks): Number System, Simple Interest, Average, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Work and Wages, Time and Distance, Clocks and Calendars, Mensuration, LCM/HCF, Simple Equations, Square Roots, Bar/Graphs and Data Interpretation.

LPSSRB Application Correction 2026

Candidates may edit their particulars in the online application form after initial submission until the last date for submission (08-11-2026) by logging in with their registered mobile number. However, the Date of Birth and Category fields cannot be edited after submission. Some other fields may also not be editable once submitted.
