JK High Court Research Assistant Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 7 Posts

High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has released advertisement number 01 of 2026/RR/RC inviting online applications for 7 Research Assistant vacancies on a contractual basis for a period of one year, extendable for a further period not exceeding one year. Eligible Law Graduates can submit their online applications from 4 October 2026 to 13 October 2026, which is also the last date for submission of the online fee. The pay for the Research Assistant post is Rs. 40,000 per month, and the selection process follows the guidelines notified in High Court Notification No. 578 dated 30 August 2016 and subsequent amendments.

The High Court has advertised a total of 7 vacant positions of Research Assistants and for the preparation of a panel, to be utilized for filling up future or anticipated positions, valid for a period of one year.

JK High Court Research Assistant Eligibility Criteria

Domicile

The candidate must be a Domicile of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in terms of S.O. 166 dated 18.05.2020 issued by GAD, Government of Jammu and Kashmir or must be a resident of Union Territory of Ladakh for a period of not less than 15 years before the date of applying and is actually resident of the area.

• The candidate must have knowledge of Computer, including retrieval of desired information from various search engines/processes such as Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, Westlaw etc.
• The candidate must have absolute integrity, honesty and good moral character, for which he/she will submit a certificate of two responsible persons at the time of interview.

The selection of Research Assistant shall be made in accordance with the selection process laid down in the guidelines as notified in the High Court Notification No. 578 dated 30.08.2016, as amended from time to time, vide Notification No. 1835/GS dated 14.03.2018, 807 of 2021/RG dated 26.08.2021 and 1287 of 2026 dated 07.08.2026, or any such other criteria as deemed necessary by the competent authority.

JK High Court Research Assistant Important Instructions

• Any wrong or incorrect information furnished by the candidate shall lead to the rejection of his/her candidature at any stage.
• The date and place of interview shall be notified separately through print media.
• No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for interview.
• On engagement, the candidate must take up the assignment of Research Assistant within the period specified in his/her order of engagement; no request for extension of time will be entertained.
• Research Assistants shall not be treated or deemed to be regular employees in the Services of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
• Any Research Assistant intending to leave the assignment within a period of one year or extended period shall be required to give prior notice of one month with prior intimation to the Hon’ble Judge to whom attached.
