Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: Ph.D. in Computer Science / Mathematics or related subjects (submitted / awarded), with a strong background in theoretical computer science research as evident from publications in top CS conferences/journals.
• Age limit: Maximum 50 years (as on 10 November 2026)
• Age relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/Women/Differently abled Usual relaxation as per Government of India norms, Exceptionally bright candidates with relevant research experience Age may be relaxed as per the recommendation of the committee

Other conditions:

• Medical certificate of fitness from the Medical Officer of the Institute must be produced at the time of joining.

Desirable:

• Research experience in theoretical CS in top institutes/universities

Who Cannot Apply for ISI Recruitment 2026

• Candidates with a resume with incomplete information will be summarily rejected

Pay and Terms of Engagement

• Purely temporary appointment on a project.
• Initially up to at most 31 March 2027 from the date of joining the Institute.
• May be extended later or terminated earlier based on performance and availability of project funds.
• No claim to permanent employment with the Government of India or the Institute.
• No right to continuation under any other project after the present project ends.
