IMSc Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

• Project Associate – I: Four year Bachelor’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent. Candidates having qualified a national-level examination such as CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, JAM or equivalent shall be eligible for higher remuneration. Desirable: Background in Quantum Computing. At least 2 years relevant research experience.
• Research Associate – I: Ph.D in Physics / Mathematics / Computer Science / Quantum Science / Engineering or Technology / a relevant discipline from a recognized University/Institute or equivalent. Or candidates who have submitted their Ph.D thesis and / defended the thesis and awaiting award of the Ph.D. degree. Desirable: Background in QMP, Computational Physics.
• Project Technical Assistant [Level-II]: Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering with minimum 55% marks from a reputed college/institution approved by Government / Board of Technical Education / AICTE, with minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in operation and maintenance of 11 kV/433 V electrical substations and associated systems. Valid Electrical Supervisor Competency Certificate (C-License) issued by CEIG, Govt. Desirable: Working knowledge of Linux, AutoCAD and LibreOffice.
