- Master’s degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven-point scale and consistently good academic record set out in appropriate UGC regulations.
- Minimum of 18 years of post-qualification experience in reputed Libraries as College Librarian / Assistant Librarian OR at least 13 years of experience as a Deputy Librarian or equivalent in Pay Matrix Level 12 in a reputed Institution or University.
- Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work.
- Desirable: M. Phil / Ph. D. degree in Library Science/Information Science / Documentation / Archives and Manuscript keeping, Computerization of Library.
