The Mehta Family School of Biosciences and Biomedical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore is executing an ICMR-supported research project titled “Ultrasound mediated drug delivery mechanism for cirrhotic liver using micro-physiological units.” The selected Project Research Scientist-I will work under the supervision of Dr. Hitendra Kumar (Principal Investigator) and Dr. Lokesh Basavarajappa (Co-Principal Investigator), Assistant Professors at the Mehta Family School of Biosciences and Biomedical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Indore.

The recruitment notification provides for a total of one (01) vacancy for the Project Research Scientist-I post under the ICMR-funded research project at IIT Indore.

Who Can Apply

Candidates must meet the essential qualification requirements prescribed by IIT Indore for the Project Research Scientist-I post.

• Essential Qualification: PhD Degree in engineering (Electrical engineering / Medical physics / Biomedical engineering / Instrumentation engineering / electronics engineering / Engineering Physics / Mechanical Engineering) OR Minimum first class M. Tech degree in engineering (Electrical engineering / Medical physics / Biomedical engineering / Instrumentation engineering / electronics engineering / Engineering Physics / Mechanical Engineering) with a valid GATE qualification OR Minimum first class Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical engineering / Medical physics / Biomedical engineering / Instrumentation engineering / electronics engineering / Engineering Physics / Mechanical Engineering) with a valid GATE qualification. First Class is defined as per the IIT Indore standards (https://academic.iiti.ac.in/phdadvt.php).
• Desirable Qualification: Candidates with knowledge of 3D printing, basic electronics, mechatronics, and signal processing. Prior experience in ultrasound is preferred. Prior experience in biomaterials development and characterization is preferred. Good communication skills.
• Age Limit: Preferably below 30 years.

IIT Indore Project Research Scientist-I Job Description

The selected Project Research Scientist-I will contribute to the development of ultrasound setup for drug delivery applications. The Project Research Scientist-I will also be involved in cell culture and 3D printing to develop a cirrhotic liver using micro-physiological units.
