Experience Criteria
PhD will be considered as 4 years’ experience (irrespective of the duration taken to complete the degree, provided the period spent on obtaining minimum essential educational qualification shall not count towards experience).
MD/MS or equivalent to be considered as 3 years’ experience (provided the period spent on obtaining minimum essential educational qualification shall not count towards experience).
MPH/M. Tech will not be considered as any experience.
Experience in Research & Development related to Biomedical Sciences, relevant to the job requirements in Govt./Public sector/Private Institutions will be admissible.

ICMR NIE Selection Process
The selection would be made based on a computer-based test (MCQs) or interview or both. The computer-based test would be based on the understanding of research methods, will be of qualifying nature, and the minimum qualifying requirement will be 75 percentile.
After registration, log in using the User ID and password received on your email and mobile number.
Click on the ‘Go to Application Form’ button and fill in the mandatory details section by section.
Upload self-attested or attested scanned copies of certificates and documents in support of educational qualifications, date of birth, category certificate, and experience.
Upload a clear photograph (unattended, without cap or goggles) and signature as per instructions.
Proceed to complete the fee payment through Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card.
Review all particulars carefully and submit the application form, then take a final printout of the application for future reference.

Applications must be submitted through online mode only on https://recruitment.icmr.org.in by 26th November 2026 till 5:30 PM.
Candidates applying for a post must ensure that they fulfill eligibility conditions on the last date of submission of applications.
Duplicate applications from any applicant will result in cancellation of all such applications.
Relevant documents of educational qualification, specialization, and experience as claimed must be invariably uploaded.
Applicants working in Government or public sector must submit a “No Objection Certificate” stating that the applicant will be relieved within one month of appointment order receipt.
The qualifications and experience may be relaxed in the case of exceptionally meritorious candidates with the approval of DG, ICMR.
