GTU Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online

Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has notified 1 vacancy for the Junior Research Fellow post on a project-based and purely contractual basis initially for 1 year and extendable to one more year or until the completion of project whichever is earlier, subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate. The qualification required is a Post Graduate Degree in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences with NET/GATE/ICMR/any other National Eligibility Tests or without them. The pay is Rs. 31,000 + HRA for candidates with NET/GATE etc., or Rs. 23,213 Fixed without it, with candidates preferably below 35 years of age. Who Can Apply

Candidates must meet the following educational qualifications and age criteria:

Eligibility

• 1. Post Graduate Degree in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences with NET/GATE/ ICMR/ any other National Eligibility Tests; OR
• 2. Post Graduate Degree in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences.

Desired Skills

Research experience in the field of molecular biology techniques, handling animal cell culture and bioinformatics with scientific writing and good communication skills.

Age Limit

Preferably below 35 years.

Pay and Tenure

The positions will be purely on a contractual basis initially for 1 year and extendable to one more year or until the completion of project whichever is earlier, subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate.

Fellowship remuneration is structured as follows:

• A. For candidates having qualifications (as per DST, GoI, Office memorandum SR/S9/Z-08 /2018 Dt. 30/01/2019) mentioned at no. 1: The fellowship as per GSBTM will be Rs. 31,000/- + HRA (The candidate will be paid 20% HRA of previous fellowship Rs. 25,000/- (as per DST, GoI, Office memorandum SR/S9/Z-09 /2012 Dt. 21/10/2014)).
• B. For candidates having qualifications mentioned at no. 2: The fellowship as per GSBTM will be Rs. 23,213/- Fixed (HRA will not be entitled).
