Citizenship
The candidate must be a citizen of India, or possess nationality as provided under Rule-7 of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
Important: Candidates lacking a valid computer-knowledge certificate may still apply, but must submit proof of passing a basic computer knowledge test before appointment; failure to do so will lead to cancellation of selection. Candidates without Gujarat Nursing Council registration must obtain it before appointment.

Selection is through a single-stage competitive written examination (MCQ), conducted in two papers as per the Health & Family Welfare Department’s exam rules:

- Each paper has 100 multiple-choice questions of 1 mark each. Paper I may be answered in Gujarati or English; Paper II is in Gujarati only.
- Negative marking: ¼ mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- Qualifying standard: Minimum 40% separately in Paper I and in Paper II, for all categories.
- The merit list is prepared on the combined marks of both papers, for candidates who clear both qualifying standards.
- Document verification is called for approximately twice the number of vacancies per category, based on provisional merit.
- A provisional answer key is published after the exam, followed by a final answer key after considering objections; cancelled questions are handled on a pro-rata basis.
- Widow candidates and eligible sports candidates (national/international, inter-university or All India School Federation level) receive an additional 5% of marks scored, subject to certificate verification.
- Final selection list and waiting list are prepared on merit, category-wise vacancies, and document verification outcome.
How to Apply for GSSSB Staff Nurse Recruitment 2026
- Complete OTR (One Time Registration) on ojas.gujarat.gov.in if not already registered — only OTR-registered candidates can apply.
- Go to “Online Application” → click Apply → select GSSSB.
- Select Advertisement No. 458/2026-27, Staff Nurse, Class-3 and click Apply.
- Read the “More Details” notification carefully before proceeding.
- Click “Apply Now”, enter your Registration No. and date of birth, and click “Apply with OTR” to open the application format; fill in Personal Details.
- Fill in Educational Details in the next step.
- Accept the declaration/assurance (“Yes”) and click Save to generate the Application Number.
- Upload photograph (5 cm × 3.6 cm, white background, dated, taken within one year before the last date) and signature (2.5 cm × 7.5 cm), in JPG format under 15 KB each.
- Click “Confirm Application” after a final review — no edits are possible after confirmation; a Confirmation Number is generated.
- Print and keep the confirmed application; download it before the last date as it cannot be downloaded afterwards.
- Pay the requisite exam fee online by 15 October 2026, 11:59 PM and save the receipt.
Important: Only the last confirmed application (with fee paid) will be considered valid if a candidate submits more than one application. Fees paid against earlier applications are not refunded.

Important Conditions
- Reserved-category candidates applying against unreserved posts will not get reserved-category relaxations.
- Category details cannot be changed after the application is confirmed.
- Candidates must declare their marital status; persons with more than one living spouse are ineligible unless specially exempted by the State Government.
- PwD candidates may apply only if their disability type is listed as suitable (low vision, one leg, cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victim, both arm/both leg, spinal deformity/injury, specific learning disability, mental illness, multiple disabilities). Deaf/hard-of-hearing candidates are not eligible. No PwD posts are reserved in this advertisement.
- Candidates with benchmark disability who have difficulty writing can request a scribe/compensatory time (20 minutes per hour) by emailing the Board at least two days before the exam.
- Malpractice, impersonation or use of forged documents may lead to disqualification, criminal action, and debarment; the Gujarat Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2023 applies.
- Passing the written examination does not itself confer a right to appointment.
- The Board reserves the right to modify or cancel the recruitment process without assigning reasons.
