Possessing practical knowledge, adequate experience in Data Acquisition and Monitoring System (DAMS) with electronics domain expertise, technical co-ordination for demand purchase activities, and technical documentation/engine test reports.
2026/GTRE/339 (Pay Level-11)
Retired from Central / State Govts, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, Universities, Govt. R&D Organizations at Pay Level-11. Possessing practical knowledge, adequate experience in Technical Photography, Videography and Visual Documentation related to engine testing, rig testing, component documentation, project activities, institutional events and official functions.
2026/GTRE/340 (Pay Level-6)
Retired from Central / State Govts, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, Universities, Govt. R&D Organizations at Pay Level-6. Possessing practical knowledge, adequate experience in HR domain to manage HRD activities such as training need identification, higher studies schemes, CEPs, orientation programmes, apprentice training, and related administrative tasks.
Other Conditions: Applicants must have had an unblemished service record and effective communication and interpersonal skills. There must be a gap of fifteen (15) days between retirement and appointment as a consultant. Persons with experience working with DRDO are accorded preference.
DRDO GTRE Age Limit
The maximum age limit of the applicant shall not be more than 63 years as on the closing date for receipt of the application.

Pensioners
A fixed monthly amount arrived at by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement.
Consultants are not entitled to any other allowance or benefit such as Dearness Allowance, Transport Facility, Residential Accommodation, Personal Staff, CGHS, Medical reimbursement, or telephone/internet reimbursement. However, official domestic travel is entitled to TA/DA commensurate with the retired Grade Pay/Pay Level.
DRDO GTRE Selection Process
The selection process involves preliminary screening of applications by a locally-constituted Committee, followed by a duly-constituted Screening Committee to assess suitability and shortlist candidates based on eligibility criteria, TOR, GFR provisions, and relevant guidelines. The merit-wise panel recommended by the Screening Committee remains valid for six (06) months.

DRDO GTRE Important Instructions
The engagement is purely on a short-term contract basis for an initial period of one (1) year, extendable as per norms.
The engagement does not constitute re-employment and does not entitle the consultant to regular absorption or regularization of service with DRDO.
Consultants shall not exercise any statutory, legal, or financial powers.
A mandatory gap of at least 15 days is required between the date of retirement and appointment as a consultant.
Paid leave of absence is admissible at the rate of 1.5 days for each completed month of service, without accumulation beyond a calendar year.
The competent authority reserves the right to cancel the advertisement or reject any or all applications at any stage without assigning any reason.
