The High Court of Delhi has released a Vacancy Notice for the Senior Personal Assistant and Personal Assistant Examination 2026, inviting online applications to fill existing vacancies for the posts of Senior Personal Assistant (SPA) and Personal Assistant (PA), and to prepare a panel for future vacancies.

Quick facts: Delhi High Court is recruiting for 117 Senior Personal Assistant posts and 33 Personal Assistant posts, a combined total of 150 vacancies. Candidates must be graduates from a recognised university with the required English shorthand and typing speed. Delhi High Court SPA & PA Vacancy 2026 – Post Details

A total of 150 posts are being filled – 117 Senior Personal Assistant and 33 Personal Assistant, both Group ‘B’ posts. Category-wise vacancy breakups are given below.

Since there is no vacancy under the General category for the post of Personal Assistant, all clauses in the notice pertaining to the General category apply only to the Senior Personal Assistant post.

Within the total vacancies, posts are also reserved horizontally for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) – 7 posts out of 117 SPA vacancies, and 3 posts out of 33 PA vacancies. The disability-wise breakup is given below.

Delhi High Court SPA & PA Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be citizens of India or subjects of Nepal, as per instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time.
• Nepal subjects must hold a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India; an offer of appointment will be given only after this certificate is produced.
• Candidates already in Government service must intimate their Department/Office and produce a No Objection Certificate at the stage of Document Verification/Interview if successful.

Delhi High Court SPA & PA Qualification

All educational qualifications must be from a University/Institution/Board recognised by the Government of India or approved by Government regulatory bodies, with the final result declared on or before the closing date for receipt of online applications. Candidates must submit a separate application for each post (SPA and PA) along with the requisite fee for each.

Delhi High Court SPA & PA Age Limit

As on 01.01.2026, a candidate’s age should not be below 18 years and not over 32 years (born not earlier than 02.01.1994 and not later than 01.01.2008). Date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate alone will be accepted; no subsequent request for change will be entertained.

PwBD relaxation applies only to candidates with benchmark disability of 40% or more, in the specific disability categories for which vacancies have been reserved. Widows, divorcees, and certain other categories of married women get relaxation up to 40 years, as per Government of Delhi instructions dated 23.04.1984. There is no upper age limit for persons already in regular service in the Delhi High Court, subject to fulfilling the educational qualification – this relaxation does not apply to candidates working in other Government departments, PSUs, or Delhi District Courts.

• 15% posts for Scheduled Castes, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes, 27% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10% for EWS, and 4% for PwBD on horizontal basis, subject to availability and orders of the Chief Justice. There is no reservation for Ex-servicemen in Group ‘A’ & ‘B’ posts.
• Candidates must possess valid category certificates issued by the competent authority on or before the cut-off date of 05.10.2026; otherwise their claim for reserved category will not be entertained and the application will be considered under Unreserved category, if eligible.
• OBC candidates must hold a certificate issued by the competent authority of the Govt. of NCT of Delhi for castes recognised as OBC in Delhi; certificates for castes recognised only by the Government of India (for central posts) are not valid for this recruitment. A Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued in FY 2026-27 (01.04.2026 to 31.03.2027) is also required for OBC candidates.
• EWS reservation requires an Income and Asset Certificate in the prescribed format, valid as on the last date of application submission.
• Category or category code, once selected online, cannot be changed at any later stage.
• Candidature remains provisional until certificates are verified; fraudulent claims of SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/ESM status will lead to debarment from the examination and legal action.

Delhi High Court SPA & PA Application Fee

Fee can be paid through UPI, Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card. The fee is non-refundable and not adjustable against any other examination or selection. Applications without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected. Separate fee is payable for each post (SPA and PA) applied for.

Selected candidates will be placed as follows:

• Senior Personal Assistant: Group ‘B’, 8th Level of Pay Matrix, 7th CPC
• Personal Assistant: Group ‘B’, 7th Level of Pay Matrix, 7th CPC

Both posts follow a four-stage selection process – English Typing Test, English Shorthand Test, Main (Descriptive) Examination, and Interview.

The final merit list is prepared by adding marks from Stage II, III, and IV; Stage I (Typing Test) is qualifying only. Ties are resolved in order: Stage II marks, then Stage III marks, then Stage IV marks, then date of birth (older candidate preferred). No exemption from any stage, including Typing and Shorthand tests, is given to any candidate, including PwBD candidates; there is no provision for a scribe or compensatory time for PwBD candidates in this recruitment.

1. Register for online application using your email ID and mobile number; note the system-generated registration/application number.
2. Fill up the application form online by visiting www.delhihighcourt.nic.in.
3. Upload a scanned colour passport-size photograph in JPEG format (100 KB to 200 KB, not more than three months old, with 3/4th face coverage).
4. Capture and upload a live photograph via webcam/mobile device, matching the uploaded passport photo.
5. Upload left-hand thumb impression in JPEG format (50 KB to 200 KB); right-hand thumb impression may be used if left is unavailable.
6. Upload scanned signature in JPEG format (50 KB to 150 KB) – illegible or capital-letter signatures will be rejected.
7. Pay the prescribed fee online via UPI, Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card.
8. Generate and save the Confirmation Page after successful fee payment – submission is complete only when this page is generated.
9. Use the correction window (12.10.2026 to 14.10.2026) if needed to modify any details except Name, Category, Date of Birth, and Mobile Number; corrections can be made up to two times, with charges of Rs. 200/- for the first correction and Rs. 500/- for the second.

• No offline application will be accepted or entertained.
• Applications received without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected; no representation against such rejection will be entertained.
• The medium of examination shall be English language only.
• Candidates must write their name, date of birth, and parent’s/spouse’s name strictly as per the matriculation certificate.
• At every stage of examination, candidates must carry two passport-size colour photographs (as uploaded) and one original photo ID proof (Aadhaar, Driving Licence, Voter ID, PAN Card, University/College/Government ID, Employer ID, ESM Discharge Book, or similar).
• No scrutiny of eligibility is done before the Document Verification/Interview stage; candidature remains provisional until then.
• Candidates must disclose any pending criminal proceedings or FIRs in the application form; concealment may lead to disqualification.
• The Delhi High Court reserves the right to alter the number of vacancies, modify the examination process, and fix minimum cut-off marks without assigning any reason.
• No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the Typing Test, Shorthand Test, Written Test, or Interview.
• Selected candidates should be prepared to work at odd hours and on holidays, if required.
• No re-evaluation or re-checking of scores at any stage is permitted.
