The Chandigarh Sports Council has invited applications for 1 post of Assistant Female Hockey Coach at the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE), Chandigarh. The post is purely on contract under the Khelo India Scheme, run jointly with the Sports Authority of India. About KISCE Chandigarh

The Chandigarh Sports Council is an autonomous organisation under the administrative control of the Sports Department, Chandigarh Administration, with its head office at Sports Complex, Sector-42, Chandigarh. In partnership with SAI, the council has set up the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE) in Chandigarh to train young and elite athletes in various disciplines. The centre falls under the State Level Khelo India Centre (SLKIC) vertical of the Khelo India Scheme, which provides financial support for sports science back-up and for engaging coaches and support staff.

Where and How to Send

Submit the application in the prescribed Performa attached at Annexure A at this office: O/o The Secretary, Chandigarh Sports Council, Hockey Stadium, Sports Complex, Sector-42, Chandigarh. It must be complete in every respect, in line with the eligibility criteria and the technical selection criteria. Applications must be received on or before 2 November 2026 (05:00 PM). Applications received after the due date will be rejected outright.

The notice does not mention the mode of sending (by post or by hand) or anything to write on the envelope. From 17 October 2026, the eligibility criteria and the technical selection criteria can be downloaded from www.sportsdeptt.chd.gov.in and http://chdpr.gov.in. The council’s letterhead gives the phone/fax number 0172-2646444 and the email [email protected]. For further updates, the notice asks candidates to visit these two websites regularly.

The Annexure A application format asks for:

• A recent photograph and the post applied for
• Name, father’s/husband’s name, date of birth, nationality, postal address, contact number and e-mail address
• Educational qualifications from Matriculation onwards: certificate/degree, subject, institute/university, year of passing and percentage/CPGA
• Work experience: organisation/institute, period from–to, nature of work, remarks and total experience in months
• Sports participation at international level and at national level (event and position)
• A signed declaration with place and date. The declaration says the candidature is liable to be cancelled or rejected at any stage if any information is false, incorrect or does not meet the eligibility criteria.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

The notice lists 1 post of Assistant Female Hockey Coach under Coaching Staff. The council calls this figure indicative: the number of vacancies and the place of deployment can be varied as per workload.

• Essential qualification: Graduate with Diploma in Coaching from SAI, NS NIS or from any other recognized Indian/Foreign University OR Olympic/International Participation OR Dronacharya Awardee.
• Age limit: The maximum age shall not be more than 40 years on the last date of receipt of application (2 November 2026).
• Proof of date of birth: The council accepts only the date of birth in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate, or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation. It also accepts an extract from a Register of Matriculates kept by a University, certified by the proper authority of the University, or the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate. Horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from the Municipal Corporation, service records and the like will not be accepted.
• Remuneration: Rs 40000-60000. Income tax or any other tax will be deducted at source under the prevailing rules, and the Chandigarh Sports Council will issue TDS/Service Tax Certificates, as applicable.
• Allowances: No TA/DA is admissible for joining the assignment or on its completion. Other facilities such as DA, accommodation, residential phone, conveyance transport, personal staff, medical reimbursement, HRA and LTC are not admissible. If the appointee has to go outstation from the place of posting on official tour, TA/DA will be paid as admissible under the rules.
• Leave: 30 days of leave in a calendar year on a pro-rata basis. No remuneration is paid for absence beyond 30 days in a year. Unused leave lapses and is not carried forward to the next calendar year.

KISCE Chandigarh Assistant Female Hockey Coach Job Description

The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach to perform his/her duty efficiently and smoothly. Under performance management, the Assistant Coach helps the Head Coach with:

• Assessing strengths and weaknesses in an athlete’s performance and identifying areas for further development
• Adapting to the needs and interests of group or individual trainees
• Communicating instructions and commands using clear, simple language
• Encouraging participants to gain and develop skills, knowledge and techniques
• Ensuring that trainees train and perform to a high standard of health and safety at all times
• Inspiring confidence and self-belief
• Developing knowledge and understanding of fitness, injury, sports psychology, Nutrition and Sports Science
• Working with IT-based resources to monitor and measure performance
• Acting as a role model, gaining the respect and trust of the people
• Liaising with other partners in performance management, such as Coaches, Physiotherapists, Doctors and Nutritionists
• Working to a high legal and ethical standard at all times, particularly on child safeguarding, gender equality and health and safety requirements, including Protection from sexual harassment

Planning and administration duties:

• Producing personalized training programmes
• Maintaining records of trainees’ performance
• Coordinating trainees’ attendance at meetings and other sports events
• Planning and running programmes of activities for groups and individuals
• Co-coordinating with other coaches for transporting trainees to and from training sessions and sports events
• Seeking and applying for sponsorship agreements by engaging all stakeholders
• Finding appropriate competitions for participants
• Planning work schedule in consultation with other coaches

Selection Process

The council will scrutinise and shortlist the applications on the basis of relevant experience and the job description. Eligible candidates will be called for an interview at their own cost. No TA/DA will be paid for the interview. The notice does not give an interview date. Owing to its requirements, the Chandigarh Sports Council may draw up a list of panels valid for one year, and it reserves the right to cancel the panel without giving any reason.

• The appointment is purely on contract and does not give any right to claim permanent employment in the Chandigarh Sports Council.
• Tenure: the contract depends on satisfactory performance, periodic reviews and results. It can be extended year to year or until Khelo India extends the project/scheme, whichever is earlier. Extension is considered on the basis of periodic review/requirement.
• If performance is not found satisfactory, the services will be discontinued after one month’s notice. The organisation also reserves the right to end the contract by giving the appointee one month’s notice.
• The appointee will be terminated with immediate effect for violating any term of employment or for any misconduct, including negligence of duties and unauthorised absence.
• Confidentiality: selected persons may not publish a book or articles, or take part in a radio broadcast, using information gathered during the assignment. They are subject to the Indian Official Secret Act, 1923, and may not give opinions or advice to others that are adverse to the interest of the Government.
• The Chandigarh Sports Council reserves the right to withdraw this advertisement or increase/decrease any post without giving any reason at any time. It may also cancel the selection process at any stage.
• The council’s decision on eligibility, selection and posting is final, and no representation or correspondence will be entertained. The Secretary, Chandigarh Sports Council-cum-Director Sports is the final authority in any dispute.
• Litigation about employment at the Chandigarh Sports Council is restricted to the jurisdiction of the Chandigarh courts.
