The Principal District and Sessions Court, Bengaluru Rural District has released four notifications (No. ADM/133/2026, ADM/134/2026, ADM/135/2026 and ADM/136/2026, all dated 30-09-2026) inviting online applications from eligible candidates for Typist, Typist-Copyist, Process Server and Peon posts. A total of 86 vacancies have been notified in the Bengaluru Rural District Court unit.

The recruitment is through direct recruitment as per the Karnataka Subordinate Courts (Ministerial and Other Posts) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2021. Candidates with an II PUC/Diploma in Commercial Practice and typewriting certificates can apply for the Typist and Typist-Copyist posts, while SSLC pass candidates can apply for the Process Server and Peon posts. The pay scales range from Rs. 27,000 to Rs. 67,600 per month, depending on the post.

Applications are accepted through online mode only, from 07-10-2026 to 06-11-2026 (up to 11:59 PM), on the official website of the Bengaluru Rural District Court.   • The Typist backlog vacancies (1 SC and 1 Category-2A) are reserved for visually impaired candidates. If such candidates are not available, other candidates of the same category will be considered as per the Government Order dated 08-03-2023.
  • The Scheduled Caste (Category-C) vacancy is reserved for candidates of the 59 most backward castes in that category. If such candidates are not available, other eligible Category-C candidates will be considered as per the Government Order dated 13-05-2026.
  • Horizontal reservations (women, rural, ex-servicemen, Kannada medium, project-displaced persons, persons with disabilities and transgender) are also applicable within the vacancies as per the notifications.
  • Posts reserved for persons with disabilities: 1 in Typist-Copyist (blindness/low vision), 2 in Process Server (blindness/low vision) and 1 in Peon (locomotor disability).

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the educational qualification and age limit as on the last date for submission of applications (06-11-2026). Post-wise eligibility is given below.

Typist and Typist-Copyist

  • Passed II PU (Pre-University) examination, OR 3-year Diploma in Commercial Practice, OR equivalent qualification.
  • Passed the typewriting examination in Kannada and English conducted by the Department of Public Instruction (Junior grade for Typist-Copyist and Senior grade for Typist), OR equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of computer usage is required for office work.

Process Server

  • Passed SSLC examination or equivalent qualification.
  • Preference will be given to candidates holding a Motor Vehicle Driving License (HVM/LVM).

Peon

  • Passed SSLC examination or equivalent qualification.
  • Candidates must be able to read and write Kannada.

Other Conditions

  • Selected candidates will be covered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS).
  • Selected candidates will be on probation for 2 years as per the Karnataka Civil Services (Probation) Rules, 1977. During probation, Typist and Typist-Copyist candidates must pass the departmental examinations prescribed for the post, the Kannada language test and the computer literacy test.
  • Candidates already in service must obtain a No Objection Certificate from the competent authority within 30 days of publication of the selection list and submit it when asked by the recruitment authority.

Salary/Stipend

Selected candidates will be paid the following pay scales:

  • Typist and Typist-Copyist: Rs. 34,100 – 67,600 (initial pay Rs. 34,100 per month)
  • Process Server: Rs. 31,775 – 61,300 (initial pay Rs. 31,775 per month)
  • Peon: Rs. 27,000 – 46,675 (initial pay Rs. 27,000 per month)
  • Selected candidates will be covered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS).

Age Limit (as on 06-11-2026)

The minimum age is 18 years. The maximum age limits are given below. A one-time relaxation of 5 years (as a onetime measure) is granted to all categories of candidates as per the Government Order dated 29-01-2026.

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • General Category: 35 years (+5 years one-time relaxation)
  • Category-2A, 2B, 3A and 3B: 38 years (+5 years one-time relaxation)
  • SC, ST and Category-1: 40 years (+5 years one-time relaxation)
  • Age relaxation for government servants, widows, ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities will be given as per the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977.

Application Fee

  • General Merit Candidates: Rs. 200/-
  • Category-2A, 2B, 3A and 3B Candidates: Rs. 100/-
  • SC, ST, Category-1 and Persons with Disabilities: Exempted from fee
  • Payment Mode: Online only through State Bank Collect (Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI/QR Code) using the link on the court website. Demand Draft, Postal Order, Money Order and Challan will not be accepted.
  • Candidates must e-verify the payment immediately after paying the fee. Applications without the prescribed fee will be rejected.

Selection Process

Selection will be through direct recruitment as per the Karnataka Subordinate Courts (Ministerial and Other Posts) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2021. The process differs by post.

Typist and Typist-Copyist

  • Skill Test: The examiner appointed by the recruitment authority will give 15 minutes of dictation in Kannada and English, which candidates must type on computers using special software. Software that imitates a typewriter keyboard will be installed on the computers.
  • The Kannada and English skill tests carry a maximum of 100 marks each, and candidates must score at least 50 marks in each to qualify.
  • Interview Shortlisting: Candidates are called for interview in the ratio of 1:5 per post, as per reservation, based on the percentage of total marks in the prescribed educational qualification examinations and the skill tests.
  • Interview: Marks equal to 5% of the maximum marks of the eligibility test are allotted for the interview.
  • Selection List: Prepared in order of merit based on the percentage of marks in the educational qualification, the percentage of marks in the eligibility test and the interview marks.

Process Server and Peon

  • Selection is through an interview of 10 marks.
  • Candidates are called for interview based on the percentage of marks in the prescribed educational qualification examination, in the ratio of 1:25 per post for Process Server and 1:10 per post for Peon, as per reservation.
  • The selection list is prepared in order of merit based on interview marks. If two or more candidates have equal marks, the older candidate is ranked higher.

Documents for Interview/Verification

  • Printout of the online application and the fee payment receipt.
  • Date of birth proof (SSLC marks card/birth certificate) and educational qualification certificates (II PUC/Diploma and typewriting certificates for Typist posts; SSLC marks card for Process Server and Peon).
  • Caste and income certificate: Form D for SC/ST, Form E for Category-1, and Form F for Category-2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, issued by the Tahsildar. SC candidates must also provide a caste certificate showing Category A, B or C.
  • Certificates for rural, Kannada medium, ex-servicemen, persons with disabilities, project-displaced and transgender reservations, issued by the competent authorities. Rural reservation requires Form-2 from the school headmaster countersigned by the Block Education Officer (General category candidates also need Form-1 certification).
  • Disability certificate in the format prescribed in the Government notification dated 19-11-2005, and relevant certificates for age relaxation (widows, ex-servicemen, etc.).
  • Conduct certificates from two respectable persons (obtained within 6 months of the application date) and from the last educational institution attended.
  • Original ID proof (Voter ID/Aadhaar/Driving License/PAN Card/Passport) and the admit card downloaded from the court website.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates can apply for Bengaluru Rural District Court Recruitment 2026 through online mode only. Follow the steps below:

  1. Obtain all required certificates (caste, income, rural, disability, etc.) in the prescribed formats from the competent authorities before applying. All certificates must be valid on 06-11-2026.
  2. Visit the official recruitment page: https://bengalururural.dcourts.gov.in/online-recruitment/.
  3. Read the notification of the post you are applying for carefully and fill in the online application with correct details. Applications with wrong or incomplete information will be rejected.
  4. Enter your mobile number and e-mail ID, which are mandatory, and enter the maximum marks and marks obtained correctly. If your marks card shows grade points, obtain a marks card from the board or authority converting the grade points to marks.
  5. For the Diploma in Commercial Practice, enter the marks of the correct year/semester.
  6. Upload a recent colour passport-size photograph (white background, JPG, maximum 50 KB; do not sign on the photo) and your signature on white paper with a black ball point pen (JPG, maximum 25 KB).
  7. Verify all the details, claim all eligible reservations in a single application and submit.
  8. Pay the application fee through the State Bank Collect link (if applicable) and e-verify the payment immediately.
  9. Download the application and the fee receipt, and keep them safe until the recruitment process ends.

Candidates must not submit more than one application. If more than one is submitted, only the last application will be considered. Details entered in the application (date of birth, qualification, reservation and age relaxation) cannot be changed later. Eligible candidates will be informed by SMS and e-mail, and the lists of candidates eligible for the skill test/interview and the schedules will be published on the court website. Admit cards will not be sent separately and must be downloaded from the website. Candidates must attend at their own cost and cannot correspond with the office regarding the recruitment.
