AUD Delhi Selection Process

Selection is on merit through an all-India advertisement, based on the recommendations of duly constituted Selection Committees, following UGC Regulations 2018. There is no written examination – selection proceeds through screening and interview.

  • A Scrutiny/Screening Committee reviews all applications and prepares a list of eligible and not-eligible candidates based on stipulated criteria.
  • The eligible/not-eligible lists (with reasons) are published on the University website; not-eligible candidates may submit grievances with documentary evidence within a stipulated deadline.
  • For Assistant Professor posts, shortlisting for interview uses an Academic Score matrix (Table 3A of UGC 2018 Regulations) covering Graduation, Post-Graduation, M.Phil., Ph.D., NET/SLET/SET, research publications, teaching/post-doctoral experience and awards – maximum 100 marks. This score is used only for shortlisting; final selection is based on interview performance.
  • For Professor and Associate Professor posts, shortlisting is based on academic records, publications, experience and Research Score as decided by the University.
  • Selection may involve a presentation/seminar/interview or a combination, as required. Candidates residing outside India may be interviewed via video conferencing on prior request.
  • Mere fulfilment of the minimum eligibility criteria does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview; the University may restrict the number of candidates interviewed based on higher qualifications/experience where applications are numerous.
