The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has invited online applications for the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination-2026 (APPSCCE-2026), Advertisement No. 5/2026, for recruitment to 135 vacancies across 13 Group-A and Group-B services and posts in the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. This recruitment is open only to citizens of India who are Permanent Residents of Arunachal Pradesh and hold Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) status – it is not a general all-India open recruitment.

In short: APPSC is recruiting for 13 services/posts – including APCS, APPS, CDPO, DIPRO and others – under APPSCCE-2026, with 135 total vacancies. Only Permanent Residents of Arunachal Pradesh holding APST status, with proficiency in an indigenous tribal language of the state, can apply. APPSC CCE Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for APPSCCE-2026 must satisfy all three mandatory eligibility conditions notified vide Government Notification F.No.AR-33/17/2026-SECT-1-AR dated 26 August 2026. This is a restricted, state-specific recruitment – candidates who do not meet all three conditions below are not eligible, regardless of qualification.

  • Permanent Residence Criterion: The candidate must be a citizen of India and an inhabitant of Arunachal Pradesh holding a valid Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) issued by the designated Competent Authority.
  • Indigenous Status and APST Criterion: The candidate must be an original inhabitant of Arunachal Pradesh holding an Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) Certificate, as per the list of Tribes notified under the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950.
  • Indigenous Tribal Language Proficiency Criterion: The candidate must be able to speak an indigenous tribal language of Arunachal Pradesh and possess working knowledge of the local indigenous tribes.

APPSC CCE Qualification

Applicants should hold a Graduate Degree from a UGC-recognised university, an institution established by an Act of Parliament, or a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification declared by the Government. Candidates who have appeared or intend to appear in their qualifying examination may also apply; their admission to the Main Examination will be provisional and subject to producing proof of having passed on the day of the Interview/Viva-voce.

APPSC CCE Age Limit

Candidates must be not less than 21 years and not more than 35 years of age as on the last date of receipt of online application, i.e. 20 October 2026.

The date of birth accepted is the one recorded in the Matriculation/High School Leaving Certificate or Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate. No other document (horoscope, affidavit, municipal birth extract, service records) will be accepted as proof of age.

APPSC CCE Selection Process

APPSCCE-2026 selection comprises two successive stages: a Preliminary Examination (screening only) and a Main Examination (Written and Interview).

Preliminary Examination

Appearing in both papers is mandatory; a candidate who misses either paper is disqualified. There is a negative marking penalty of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer. Marks scored in the Preliminary Examination are not counted toward the final order of merit – it serves only to screen candidates for the Main Examination, at approximately 12 times the number of advertised vacancies.

Main Examination

The Main Examination consists of 8 subjective-type written papers plus an Interview:

  • English (Compulsory): 300 marks, qualifying in nature – candidates must score at least 33% to have their other papers evaluated; these marks are not counted for merit.
  • Merit Subjects (Essay, General Studies I–IV, Optional Subject-I, Optional Subject-II): Total 1750 marks. Candidates must score an aggregate of 33% (577.50 marks) with at least 20% in each subject; PwBD candidates must score an aggregate of 20% (350 marks) with at least 10% in each subject.
  • Interview/Viva-Voce: 275 marks, for candidates shortlisted in a ratio of 1:3 of advertised vacancies based on Written Examination performance.

Candidates applying for Arunachal Pradesh Police Service (APPS) posts must additionally meet the physical standards, Physical Efficiency Test, and Medical Standard requirements under the Arunachal Pradesh Police Service Rules, 1989 (as amended in 2022).

Examination Centres

The Preliminary Examination will be held at 19 centres: Itanagar, Naharlagun and Nirjuli, Bomdila, Ziro, Daporijo, Seppa, Pasighat, Yingkiong, Tezu, Aalo, Basar, Khonsa, Changlang, Roing, Doimukh, Yachuli, Tawang, Namsai, and Likhabali.

How to Apply for APPSC CCE Recruitment 2026

  1. Visit the official APPSC website at appsc.gov.in.
  2. Complete One Time Registration (OTR) if not already registered – those already registered can log in directly.
  3. Fill the online application form for APPSCCE-2026 (Preliminary Examination) only; a Detailed Application Form (DAF) will be invited separately after the Preliminary result for those who qualify, with no additional fee.
  4. Upload scanned copies of the required documents (see Important Instructions below).
  5. Pay the application fee of Rs. 200 online (PwD candidates are exempted).
  6. Submit only a single application – if multiple applications are submitted due to any unavoidable situation, the one with the highest Registration ID (RID) will be accepted, and fees are not adjustable across RIDs.
  7. Review the declaration carefully before final submission, as no changes are allowed after submission.

APPSC CCE Important Instructions

  • Required scanned documents: signature (40–50 KB, JPG), recent colour passport photo (40–100 KB, JPG, white background, no headgear/sunglasses), self-attested Matriculation Certificate/Marksheet showing date of birth, self-attested APST certificate, self-attested Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC), and (for Government employees claiming age relaxation) a self-attested appointment order showing 3 years of continuous regular service.
  • Candidates already in Government service must inform their Employer/Controlling Authority in writing before applying, and upload the intimation/NOC at the DAF stage.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) must submit a disability certificate under Section 57 of the RPwD Act, 2016, clearly stating the percentage of disability and issued before the application deadline, to claim reservation.
  • Scribe facility is available only for Blindness, Locomotor Disability (both arms affected), and Cerebral Palsy candidates as of right; other PwBD categories require a certificate from a Government Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent.
  • Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour is allowed for Blindness, Locomotor Disability (both arms affected), and Cerebral Palsy candidates in the written papers.
  • Candidature at any stage remains provisional and subject to the Commission’s final eligibility decision; issuance of an Admit Card does not confer any right to the post.
