Important: This is an accelerated promotion examination for serving Civil Judges (Junior Division). It is not a direct recruitment notification for advocates, fresh law graduates or candidates from outside the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial Service.

Who Can Apply for AP High Court Civil Judge LDCE 2026?

Only serving officers in the cadre of Civil Judge (Junior Division) under the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial Service can apply.

The candidate must have completed at least three years of service as Civil Judge (Junior Division) by 31 March 2026.

AP High Court Civil Judge Qualification 2026

A candidate seeking accelerated promotion to Civil Judge (Senior Division) through the LDCE must:

  • Be serving as a Civil Judge (Junior Division) in the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial Service.
  • Have completed not less than three years of service in that cadre by 31 March 2026.
  • Possess the necessary educational and service qualifications prescribed under the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial Service rules.

Disqualification Conditions

The following officers are not eligible to apply:

  • An officer facing disciplinary charges.
  • An officer undergoing punishment for any irregularity in the discharge of duties.
  • An officer whose integrity has been found doubtful in any year.

AP High Court Civil Judge Selection Process 2026

The selection process may include the following stages:

  1. Computer-based screening test, if required
  2. Written examination

AP High Court Civil Judge Screening Test Pattern

The High Court may conduct a computer-based screening test depending on the number of applications received.

The screening test marks will be used only for shortlisting candidates for the written examination. These marks will not be added to the final selection marks.

AP High Court Civil Judge Written Examination Pattern

The written examination consists of three papers. Each paper carries 100 marks and has a duration of three hours.

Candidates must obtain at least 40% marks separately in each part of Paper-III. Marks obtained in Paper-III will not be counted for determining eligibility for viva voce or final selection.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

To qualify for the viva voce, candidates must obtain:

  • At least 55% marks in Paper-I.
  • At least 55% marks in Paper-II.
  • At least 60% aggregate marks in the written examination.
  • At least 40% marks separately in each part of Paper-III.

Candidates who remain absent from the viva voce will be disqualified from the selection process.

No travelling allowance or daily allowance will be paid for attending the screening test, written examination or viva voce.

Final Merit List

The final merit list will be prepared using marks secured in Paper-I, Paper-II and viva voce. Paper-III marks and screening test marks will not be added to the final merit score.

If two or more candidates obtain equal marks, preference will be decided in the following order:

  1. Candidate older in age
  2. Candidate possessing a higher educational qualification
  3. Candidate securing higher marks in the prescribed educational qualification

  3. Fill in all personal, educational, service and category details.
  4. Affix a recent passport-size photograph attested by the concerned Unit Head or Principal District Judge.
  5. Prepare the applicable Demand Draft in favour of the Registrar (Recruitment), High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Nelapadu, Amaravati.
  6. Attach the service certificate, appointment order and applicable educational and community certificates.
  7. Attach the hall ticket-cum-identity card in original and duplicate.
  8. Sign the completed application with the date.
