The interview was first scheduled for 17 October 2026 and has been rescheduled for administrative reasons. It fills 2 temporary posts of Research Associate (RA) under the Cotton and Pulses Scheme (Non Plan), with pay of Rs.61,000/- + HRA per month (for M.Sc.(Ag.)) and Rs.67,000/- + HRA per month (for Ph.D.).

Posts and Eligibility

There are 2 posts of Research Associate (RA). The post is purely temporary, for 11 months from the date of joining. Candidates must meet one of the following educational qualifications:

• Doctoral Degree/ Ph.D in Genetics & Plant Breeding, or
• Master’s degree in Genetics & Plant Breeding with 4/5 years of Bachelor’s Degree having 1st division or equivalent overall grade point average with at least 3 years of respective teaching/research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/Associateship/Training/Other engagements, Published one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI)/NAAS rated (>4.0) Journal.

Candidates having a Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualification. All the relevant degrees should be completed in ICAR accredited Universities/Colleges.

Age Limit

The age limit is not exceeding 40 years for men and 45 years for women. Age relaxation is as per Government norms for SC / ST candidates. The notice does not print a cut-off date for counting age.

Salary

HRA is paid on top of the pay, as per the existing state Govt. rates applicable in various places/locations.

ANGRAU Research Associate (RA) Job Description

The notice lists the work under the two parts of the scheme:

• Cotton: To conduct cotton field experiments, handling of BG II segregating populations, knowledge on molecular works, collection of the samples for ELISA, running of ELISA and PCRs for DNA finger printing, recording the data at lab & Field and analysis of the data using different software.
• Pulses: Execution of Technical support for implementing the technical programme, breeder seed production of MULLaRP Scheme.

• All original certificates, with a duplicate copy of the same, and other relevant documents
• An application on plain paper giving bio-data and the name and address of two references
• A latest passport size photograph affixed on the application

• No objection certificate, if employed

The plain-paper application and its enclosures are submitted to the office at the time of interview.

Eligible candidates attend the walk-in interview directly at RARS, Lam on 9 November 2026 at 1:00 P.M. with the documents above. Candidates are interviewed by a selection committee, and the decision of the selection committee is final and binding in all aspects.
