Akashvani Delhi Recruitment 2026 – Apply Offline for Casual News Editor & Casual News Reader-cum-Translator Posts

Prasar Bharati, Akashvani New Delhi has invited applications for the engagement of Casual News Editor (Hindi) and Casual News Reader-cum-Translator (Hindi) on a casual assignment basis (not regular) for Delhi and NCR residents. Eligible candidates belonging to Indian origin may apply offline by submitting their applications in the prescribed format by 21 October 2026 (up to 6:00 PM).

Candidates must be of Indian origin and residents of Delhi and NCR.

Akashvani Delhi Age Limit

Candidates must be between 21 years of age and not more than 50 years of age.

Akashvani Delhi Application Fee

The application fee must be paid through a demand draft in favour of PB:DG (News), NSD, AIR, New Delhi or online to State Bank of India, Parliament Street, New Delhi branch, Account Number: 11084233458, IFSC Code: SBIN0070691 (UTR details must be attached with the application). The fee is non-refundable.

Akashvani Delhi Selection Process

The selection process includes a written exam followed by a second stage consisting of an interview or voice test depending on the post.

Casual News Editor (Hindi) Selection Process

Selection comprises two stages: (1) Written exam (2) Interview. The written exam carries 50 or more marks to assess professional ability and knowledge, and has a duration of three hours. Candidates scoring 50 or more marks in the written exam will be called for an interview. The Selection Committee will assess overall personality and suitability for radio news. Final inclusion in the panel requires approval from Director General (News).

Casual News Reader-cum-Translator (Hindi) Selection Process

Selection comprises two stages: (1) Written exam (2) Voice test and interview in the relevant language. The test carries 100 marks and a three-hour duration. Candidates scoring 50 or more marks in the written exam will be called for the voice test to test voice quality, modulation, delivery style, pronunciation, and accent. The Selection Committee may recommend candidates scoring 50 or more marks in the voice test and interview for approval by Director General (News).

3. Attach a passport-size photograph on the designated space of the form.
4. Enclose self-attested copies of educational certificates, mark sheets, category certificates, and experience certificates.
5. Attach the original bank draft or online UTR details as proof of application fee payment.
6. If working in government/autonomous bodies, enclose a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) from the employer.
7. Write the envelope title as: “समाचार सेवा विभाग आकाशवाणी में आकस्मिक समाचार संपादक (हिंदी) और आकस्मिक समाचार वाचक-सह-अनुवादक (हिंदी) के पदों के लिए आवेदन”.

Akashvani Delhi Important Instructions

• Engagement is purely on a casual assignment basis (regulatorized) and does not confer any right to regular employment in the organization.
• Work will be assigned as per departmental requirements, generally not exceeding six days in a month.
• Incomplete applications or applications received after the last date (21.10.2026, 6:00 PM) will be summarily rejected.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written exam, voice test, or interview.
• Candidates must not engage in any activity that harms the reputation of Akashvani/Prasar Bharati or affects the impartiality and accuracy of news.
• Candidates passing the written exam will be notified via email for the voice test or interview.
• The competent authority reserves the right to cancel any application without assigning reasons.
