The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has released the AIIMS NORCET 11 Recruitment 2026 notification for 2,218 tentative Nursing Officer vacancies across AIIMS New Delhi and other participating AIIMS institutes/hospitals. The recruitment will be conducted through the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET)–11. To apply for the Nursing Officer post, candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualifications in Nursing and be between 18 and 30 years of age as specified in the notification.

A total of 2218 vacancies for Nursing Officer have been reported across 27 participating AIIMS institutes and allied hospitals. This number is provisional and subject to change. Vacancies for Nursing Officer posts have been reported by 27 participating AIIMS institutes and allied hospitals. As per Government of India’s Central Institute Body decision, 80% of seats are reserved for female candidates and 20% for male candidates across participating AIIMS.

AIIMS NORCET 11 Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the following essential qualification and registration requirements to appear in NORCET-11. Eligibility must be fulfilled on or before the closing date of online registration, i.e. 13 August 2026.

AIIMS Nursing Officer Educational Qualification

Candidates must meet either of the following two eligibility routes:

• Route I: B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council recognized institute or university, OR Post-Certificate/Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institute/university; AND registration as a Nurse and Midwife with the State or Indian Nursing Council.
• Route II: Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized institute/board/council; registration as a Nurse and Midwife with the State or Indian Nursing Council; and two years of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital acquired after obtaining the essential qualification (i.e., after completing residency, declaration of result, and council registration).

The base age limit for all AIIMS is 18 to 30 years. The crucial date for determining age is the closing date of online registration, i.e. 13 August 2026.

AIIMS NORCET 11 2026 Salary Structure

Selected Nursing Officers will be placed at Level 07 in the Pay Matrix, corresponding to the pre-revised Pay Band-2 of Rs. 9,300–34,800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4,600/-, under Group-B classification. Posts also carry usual allowances admissible to Central Government servants of similar status, as applicable at the respective posting city.

AIIMS NORCET 11 Application Fee 2026

Fees can be paid online through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. Any transaction/processing fee applicable will be borne by the candidate. The application fee, once remitted, is non-refundable under any circumstances, except that SC/ST candidates who appear in the examination will have their fee refunded after declaration of results and verification of certificates.

AIIMS NORCET 11 Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection is made through a two-stage Computer-Based Test (CBT):

• Stage I – NORCET Preliminary: A 90-minute qualifying exam with 100 MCQs (100 marks) – 20 questions on General Knowledge & Aptitude and 80 on Nursing subjects. There is negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer. This stage only qualifies candidates for Stage II and is not used for final merit.
• Stage II – NORCET Mains: A 180-minute exam with 160 case-scenario-based MCQs (160 marks) covering the nursing syllabus, testing clinical skill competency. Negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer applies. Final merit is based solely on Stage II performance.

Qualifying marks for Stage I are 50 percentile (UR/EWS), 45 percentile (OBC), and 40 percentile (SC/ST), with a further 5 percentile relaxation for PWBD candidates. Qualifying marks for Stage II are 50% (UR/EWS), 45% (OBC), and 40% (SC/ST), with a similar 5% PWBD relaxation. Candidates qualifying in Stage I, up to 5 times the seats per category, are called for Stage II. Ties in Stage II merit are resolved sequentially by fewer negative marks in Stage II, higher Stage I score, fewer negative marks in Stage I, older date of birth, and finally alphabetical order of name.

• Candidates already registered under OTR or a previous examination must apply using the same old ID/OTR registration; applying with a different ID will lead to rejection.
• Candidates employed in Government/Semi-Government/PSU/Autonomous bodies must upload a valid NOC by 18 August 2026 (5:00 PM); failure will lead to cancellation of candidature.
• No correction is permitted after the specified dates, including changes to category (SC/ST to UR/OBC/EWS) once the registration fee is submitted.
• No extension of dates will be provided under any circumstances.
• Any change of allotted examination centre will be summarily rejected.
• Candidates should rely only on official notices published on www.aiimsexams.ac.in; AIIMS does not authorize any agent, coaching centre, or third-party website for recruitment-related activities.
• The OBC-NCL certificate must be valid for financial year 2026–2027 and issued between 01.04.2026 and 13.08.2026.
