The tenure of fellowship will be initially for a period of 2 years and may be extended further and upgraded to SRF as per rules. Selected candidate(s) may be allowed to register for PhD with any recognized University/Institution during the tenure of fellowship.

DRDO JRF Selection Process

The selection process comprises screening of applications for eligibility, a Written Test, and an Interview for qualified candidates.

  • Screening: Incomplete applications will be rejected during screening. Eligible candidates are called for the selection procedure.
  • Written Test: Conducted for eligible candidates reporting on the date of interview. Qualified candidates will be interviewed on the same day.
  • Interview: The post will be offered solely as per the merit list prepared based on the performance in the Interview.

  2. Fill out the bio-data form strictly in BLOCK letters.
  3. Affix a recent colour passport-size photograph on the top right corner and self-attest it.
  4. Send the duly filled application by e-mail to [emailΒ protected].
  5. Ensure the e-mail subject field contains: “Application for post of JRF Advt. No CAIR/HRT/JRF/2026/03”.
  6. Submit the application by e-mail on or before 30 October 2026 up to 17:00 Hrs.
  7. Bring a copy of the filled bio-data form along with complete bio-data, original certificates, self-attested photocopies, and a Government-issued Photo-identity proof on the date of walk-in interview.

  • One set of self-attested photocopies of all degrees, academic qualification certificates, and marks sheets
  • All original certificates and testimonials
  • Community certificate in original (if applicable, for SC/ST/OBC/PH)
  • Medical certificate from a competent authority (for PH candidates)
  • Project report in support of candidature (optional)
  • Government-issued Photo-identity proof in original and a photocopy (Aadhaar Card / PAN Card / Passport / Voter Id, etc.)
  • NOC from employer (if presently employed in Government departments/PSUs/Autonomous bodies)

DRDO JRF Important Instructions

  • Late arriving candidates will not be allowed to participate in the walk-in interview process.
  • No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview or at the time of joining if selected.
  • Electronic items like mobile phones, pen drives, laptops, optical disks, and smart watches are strictly not allowed inside the CAIR Campus.
  • No vehicle parking facility is provided for candidates, and public parking is not available near the venue; candidates are advised to utilize public transport.
  • Offer of award of Fellowship does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO under any circumstances.
