MbPA Vacancy 2026

MbPA has announced 25 vacancies in total. Executive Engineer (Civil) has the highest number of posts with 13 vacancies, followed by Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) with 5. The reservation breakup is shown in the table.

As per the notification, the discipline-wise number of posts is provisional and indicative. MbPA may change or interchange the numbers at any stage, and reservation will follow the Government guidelines in force when the result is finalised. MbPA also reserves the right not to select any candidate from any discipline.

MbPA Recruitment 2026 Important Dates

The online application window is open for one month. The examination date has not been announced yet.

The notification states that exam dates will be intimated around 10 days before the examination. Age, qualification and experience are counted as on 01/09/2026.

MbPA Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the qualification, experience, age and nationality conditions for the post they apply for. Candidates can apply for more than one post if eligible, but a separate application with separate fees is needed for each post. Only one application should be submitted per discipline. If a candidate submits multiple applications for the same discipline, only the latest valid completed application is kept and the fees paid for the others are forfeited.

MbPA Qualification

Qualifications must be from recognized Indian Universities approved by the UGC or recognized Indian Institutes approved by AICTE. Candidates must hold the valid mark-sheet, degree, diploma, certificate or membership and the required experience as on 01/09/2026. The final result of the qualification must have been published on or before 01/09/2026.

Assistant Security Officer candidates must also meet the minimum physical requirements: height 165 cm; chest 81 cm at full expiration and 86 cm after full inspiration (with a difference of at least 5 cm between the two); weight 50 kg.

MbPA Age Limit

Age is counted as on 01/09/2026. The minimum age is 18 years for all posts. The maximum age depends on the post.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation for OBC candidates is not specified in the provided notification. SC, ST or OBC candidates who apply for a post under the UR category are not eligible for age relaxation. Candidates claiming relaxation must submit copies of the certificates and produce the originals at verification.

Nationality

A candidate must be (a) a citizen of India, (b) a subject of Nepal, (c) a subject of Bhutan, (d) a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 to settle permanently, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma (Myanmar), Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam to settle permanently in India. Candidates in categories (b), (c) and (d) need a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

Posts Identified for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities

PwBD candidates can apply only for the posts in which their disability is identified as suitable. The full list of abbreviations is given in the official notification.

MbPA Application Fee

The application fee or intimation charges must be paid online between 29/09/2026 and 28/10/2026 (both dates inclusive).

Bank transaction charges for online payment must be borne by the candidate. The fee is non-refundable and cannot be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. An SC or ST candidate who applies for a post as UR is not eligible for the fee relaxation. Payment can be made by Debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards or Mobile Wallets.

MbPA Salary

The notification gives the basic pay and approximate total emoluments as follows.

HRA is paid as admissible for those not residing in Mumbai Port Authority quarters. Other allowances are as applicable.

MbPA Selection Process

Selection starts with an online objective examination for all posts. The later stages differ for Class I and Class II posts.

Class I Posts

1. Online examination

The final selection for Class I posts is based on overall performance in the online examination and the interview. MbPA decides how many candidates are called for document verification and interview.

Class II Post (Assistant Security Officer)

4. Test of Proficiency in Marathi, Hindi and English (minimum 35% marks in each language)

There is no interview for the Class II post. Final selection is based on the online examination, subject to qualifying the Physical Requirement Test and the language proficiency test. MbPA reserves the right to modify the selection procedure.

MbPA Exam Pattern

The online exam is objective type, in English only. It is of 120 minutes. There is negative marking of one-fourth (1/4) of the marks allotted for each wrong answer.

MbPA reserves the right to modify the structure of the online examination.

Cut-off Score

The cut-off is applied in two stages: a minimum of 35% marks in each section or test separately, and a minimum of 35% overall in the online exam. MbPA may alter the minimum score required in each section and may restrict the number of candidates shortlisted.

Documents Required at Verification / Interview

Shortlisted candidates must bring originals and self-attested photocopies of the following. Non-submission of the required documents will debar the candidature.

• Call letter for verification/interview
• System-generated printout of the online application form and e-receipt
• Proof of date of birth (Birth Certificate issued by the competent Municipal Authorities, or SSLC/Std. X certificate with date of birth)
• Photo identity proof
• Mark-sheets and certificates of educational qualifications and relevant eligibility documents
• Caste certificate along with caste validity certificate in the prescribed format, for SC/ST/OBC candidates
• OBC certificate with the non-creamy layer clause, valid as on the date of online registration
• Disability certificate in the prescribed format, for PwBD candidates
• “No Objection Certificate” from the employer, for candidates serving in Government, Quasi-Government, Public Sector Undertakings (including Nationalised Banks and Financial Institutions)
• Experience certificates, as applicable
• Certificate of nationality or valid Indian passport (Indian citizens), or certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India (other nationality categories)
• Any other relevant documents supporting eligibility

For the examination, candidates must carry a valid call letter, an original photo-identity proof with exactly the same name as on the call letter, and a photocopy of that proof. Ration Card and Learner’s Driving License are not valid ID proofs.

How to Apply for MbPA Recruitment 2026

Applications are accepted only online. No other mode of application will be accepted.

MbPA Apply Online – Steps

1. Go to the MbPA website www.mumbaiport.gov.in and open the “People & Career/Jobs” menu.
2. Click “APPLY ONLINE”, then choose “Click here for New Registration” and enter your name, contact details and email ID.
3. Note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password shown on screen (also sent by email and SMS).
4. Fill in the application form. You can use “SAVE AND NEXT” to save and verify details before final submission.
5. Upload the photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration as per the specifications.
6. Preview the entire form and click “COMPLETE REGISTRATION” only after checking every detail. No change is possible after this.
7. Click the “Payment” tab and pay the fee online.
8. Click “Submit”, then take a printout of the application form and e-receipt. If no e-receipt is generated, the payment has failed and should be repeated by logging in again.

Documents to Scan and Upload

Candidates must also capture and upload a live photograph using a webcam or mobile phone. The declaration text is: “I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.” Candidates need a valid personal email ID and mobile number that stay active until the recruitment process ends.

Important Instructions for Candidates

• Name, category, date of birth, address, mobile number, email ID and exam centre cannot be changed after the application is submitted.
• An application without a proper photograph and signature, or with unsuccessful fee payment, is not valid.
• Apply well before the last date to avoid website load issues. MbPA does not take responsibility for candidates unable to submit on time.
• Requests to change post, centre, venue, date or session for the examination will not be entertained.
• Candidates reporting late will not be permitted to take the examination. Candidates may need to be at the venue for about 4 hours, even though the exam duration is 120 minutes.
• Mobile phones, calculators and similar devices are not allowed inside the examination hall.
• Merely applying or being shortlisted does not guarantee employment. Appointment is subject to medical fitness.
