Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), India’s premier engineering and manufacturing enterprise under the Government of India, has invited applications through its Electronics Division (BHEL EDN), Bengaluru, for the post of Project Engineer on Fixed Tenure Basis. BHEL Project Engineer Vacancy 2026 Details

A total of 16 vacancies have been notified for the Project Engineer post under the Defence and Aerospace Business Group (DABG), ESD. The number of vacancies is tentative and may vary based on further assessment by BHEL.

BHEL Project Engineer Eligibility Criteria

BHEL Project Engineer Qualification

Candidates must hold a Full-Time Degree in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation / Computer Science with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) or equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all years/semesters from a recognized University/Institution.

In addition, candidates must have a minimum of 12 months of relevant post-qualification work experience, exclusive of any Trainee/Apprenticeship period. The notification lists the following essential skill areas:

• Basic knowledge of Control Systems
• Familiarity with various communication protocols
• Testing & commissioning of Control Systems
• Minimum 12 months of experience in Erection & Commissioning supervision
• Ability to read Drawings, Electrical Schematics, Wiring Charts, and Hook-up Drawings
• Ability to handle test instruments such as Calibrator, Analog & Digital Multimeter
• Willingness to work on-board Naval ships in staggered shifts, Pan-India
• Good communication skills to independently handle customers

Desirable qualifications include prior experience with Control System Hardware and System Engineering, Shipboard Propulsion Control Systems, Power Management Systems, Auxiliary Control Systems, Battle Damage Control Systems, exposure to Setting to Work (STW)/Harbour Acceptance Trials (HAT)/Sea Acceptance Trials (SAT), and prior experience handling Naval Inspectors or Classification Societies such as IRS, ABS, DNV, and LRS.

The upper age limit is 32 years as on 01.08.2026, along with the required 12 months of cumulative post-qualification relevant work experience.

BHEL Project Engineer Application Fee

A non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 236/- is payable by General, OBC, and EWS candidates. SC/ST candidates and Persons with Disability are exempted from paying the processing fee. The fee must be paid online through SBI Collect, using the link provided on the official website. Payment through Demand Draft, Money Order, Postal Order, Cheque, or any other offline mode is not accepted.

BHEL Project Engineer Selection Process

The selection process for BHEL Project Engineer Recruitment 2026 is as follows:

• If the number of eligible applicants for a post is up to 1:10 of the number of vacancies, Personal Interviews will be conducted for all eligible candidates.
• If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the 1:10 ratio, the number of candidates called for Personal Interview will be restricted based on the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination (Degree).
