Stage-1: Scrutiny and Shortlisting

280 candidates (40 eligible applications against each vacancy) will be shortlisted out of all eligible applications received, based on the percentage of total marks obtained in Matriculation (10th Standard) or the equivalent exam, for the next round – the objective-type written examination.

In case of a tie based on percentage of marks, the following criteria will be applied in sequence: (1) the candidate older in age as on the last date of receipt of application will be placed higher in merit; (2) if candidates have equal marks/percentage and the same date of birth, all such candidates will be allowed to appear in the written examination, irrespective of the prescribed shortlisting limit.

Stage-2: Objective-Type Written Examination

Subject Number of Questions

Hindi Comprehension 10
Food and Nutrition 10
Quantitative Aptitude 5
Hygiene and Cleanliness 5
Total 40 questions, 1 mark each

The written examination is of 30 minutes’ duration (40 minutes for candidates eligible for scribe assistance). One mark is awarded for each correct answer, and one-fourth (0.25) mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. The standard of questions is of matriculation level. Question papers will be set in Hindi and English only; in case of any discrepancy between the two versions, the English version will prevail. There is no provision for re-evaluation or rechecking of scores, and the written examination will be held only in Bhopal, M.P. – no request for change of venue will be entertained. No Travelling Allowance is paid to shortlisted candidates for attending the written examination. Success in the written examination confers no automatic right to appointment.

  2. Candidate with more marks secured in Food and Nutrition
  3. Candidate with more marks secured in Hygiene and Cleanliness

Stage-3: Skill Test

The Skill Test carries a total of 60 marks and evaluates the candidate’s proficiency in duties commensurate with the post of Canteen Attendant, including preparation of beverages, basic food handling skills, preparation techniques, presentation, hygiene, and cleanliness.

Final Result

The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance of candidates in the written examination and skill test (score out of 100), and 07 candidates will be selected strictly on merit against the available category-wise vacancies. The final result will be displayed on the Notice Board of the Income Tax Department, O/o the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, MP&CG, Aayakar Bhavan, 47, Arera Hills, Bhopal 462011, and on the regional website https://incometaxmpcg.gov.in.

Document Verification

Document Verification (DV) will be conducted after declaration of the final result. Candidates must produce the relevant original certificates mentioned/submitted in the online application form, failing which their candidature will be cancelled. A waiting list will be maintained, and the next eligible candidate(s) in order of merit will be considered for appointment if a selected candidate fails to join, declines the offer, or is found ineligible at any stage.
