The Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) of Tata Memorial Centre is holding a walk-in interview on 3 November 2026 for 1 post of Scientific Officer (Bioinformatics), on contract. The post is in the Department of Hematopathology and Cytogenetics at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Candidates with a Ph.D. are paid Rs. 67,700 a month, and candidates with an M.Sc. / M. Tech in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related field can join at a lower grade on Rs. 56,100. Candidates must report between 10.00 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. on the interview day.

Age Limit

Candidates can be up to 40 years old. Age and experience are counted as on 29 October 2026, the advertisement date.

Educational Qualification

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology or Related Fields.
• OR M.Sc. / M. Tech in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology or Related Fields. These candidates are also eligible, but at a lower grade.

Experience

• Proven proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, is required.
• Proficiency with (human) genome sequencing.

Desirable

• One year of experience in next generation sequencing based data analytics (printed with the Ph.D. qualification).
• Experience in Cancer Bioinformatics.

Selection Process

Candidates are selected through a walk-in interview. TMC – ACTREC reserves the right to hold a written test to screen candidates before the interview if it feels this is necessary.

Service Conditions

The appointment is on contract. It is initially for one year and can be extended according to the requirement of the Centre. The work is in the Department of Hematopathology and Cytogenetics at ACTREC, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.
