The Office of the Dean of Academic Affairs at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur requires a Post-Doctoral Fellow to spearhead the field installation of a wind and solar hybrid system and establish an Energy Technology laboratory at Ladakh. In addition to technical project execution, the role encompasses comprehensive administrative responsibilities, student admissions, record-keeping, and liaison work for students of Sindhu Central University (SCU) placed at IIT Kanpur.

Who Can Apply

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. from a reputed university /institute in Mechanical /Aerospace/Electrical or Energy Technology and an excellent track record and publication /patents in a research area relevant to the project. Applicants must also have related work experience > 2 years.

Necessary attributes include knowledge in wind & hydro-turbines, force measurement, flow visualization and wind tunnel measurement & particle image velocimetry. Candidates must demonstrate good written communication and interpersonal skills, strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Pay and Tenure

The salary range for the Project Post-Doctoral Fellow position is 60000-5000-85000, determined according to IIT Kanpur norms and the candidate’s experience. The position is currently till March 31, 2029.

IIT Kanpur Project Post-Doctoral Fellow Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties and operational activities:

• Wind – Solar hybrid field laboratory setup at Ladakh
• Plans, schedules, supervises and participates in the day-to-day activities & overseeing the admissions and SCU office, which performs various functions related to student registration and class enrollment, attendance, grade management, result generation, transfers, graduation requirement, graduation, and various student forms.
• To liaise with the institute’s DOAA, DOSA, hostel, health centre, and other related office staff.
• To liaise with other external institutes and agencies involved with SCU.
• Provide support in creating documents as required by SCU.
• To interpret SCU policies, rules and regulations, and operational procedures.
• Answers inquiries and investigates and resolves non-routine problems related to registration, enrollment, fee assessments, residency, and other related areas.
• To assist in the coordination of any off-campus admissions and registration.
• To utilize standard office software applications to compile data and prepare reports and correspondence concerning student admissions and records matters.
• Utilises specialized computer application programs for applications, electronic transcripts, and degree audits.
• Setting up an energy technology laboratory at Ladakh.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
