Uttarakhand Ayurved University (UAU) has announced vacancy for the Vice-Chancellor post on a contract basis for a term of three years from the date of joining or up to the age limit prescribed by statutes, with a maximum age limit of 65 years. The pay is as per the University Act and UGC norms, along with salary and allowances as admissible under the University Act, Statutes, and State Government guidelines. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or P.G. degree in any subject in AYUSH or related disciplines with 10 years of experience as a Professor. Educational Qualification

• A distinguished academician, scholar of repute, and visionary with a distinguished academic record including a Ph.D. or P.G. degree in any subject in AYUSH or related disciplines/sciences from a recognized University/Institution.
• Exhibiting highest level of competence, integrity, morals, and institutional commitment in the field of AYUSH education.

Experience Criteria

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Professor in a University system (for candidates applying from teaching background).
• Or equivalent experience in reputed research and/or academic administrative organization (for candidates applying from research organisation and/or academic administration background).
• Proven administrative acumen and leadership experience in senior academic management roles (such as Dean, Director, Registrar, HOD, or Syndicate/Senate member) with a track record of institutional development, financial management, and fostering academic excellence.

Age Limit

• Maximum age limit of the applicant at the time of recommendation by the Search Committee shall not exceed 65 years (as prescribed under the Uttarakhand State University norms).

Pay and Terms

The selected candidate will receive remuneration as per the Uttarakhand Ayurved University Act, 2009, and State Government norms as adopted from UGC. Salary and allowances are admissible under the University Act, Statutes, and State Government guidelines. The appointment is made for a term of three years from the date of joining or up to the statutory age limit, whichever applies.

2. Fill out all sections completely and attach self-attested copies of required testimonials, age proof, comprehensive 3-year vision statement, No Objection Certificate (NOC), and Vigilance Clearance Certificate.
3. Affix a recent self-attested passport-size photograph on the application form.
4. Place the application in a sealed envelope superscribed “Application for the Post of Vice-Chancellor, UAU”.
5. Send the completed application form along with all annexures and supporting documents via Registered or Speed Post to the following address: Director, Ayurvedic and Unani services Uttarakhand, Danda Lakhond, Near I.T. Selection Process

Applications received are evaluated by a Search and Selection Committee. The committee assesses candidates based on their curriculum vitae, qualifications, experience, administrative leadership, and a comprehensive 3-year vision statement. The maximum age of the applicant at the time of recommendation by the Search Committee shall not exceed 65 years.

Important Instructions

• No vigilance inquiry, departmental inquiry, or legal proceedings shall be pending against the applicant at the time of submission and during the selection process.
• No case or legal proceeding shall have been instituted against the applicant before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India or any Hon’ble High Court, and all relevant litigation must be disclosed.
• Incomplete applications, applications received after the due date, or those without mandatory endorsements (NOC and Vigilance Clearance) will be summarily rejected.
• Canvassing in any form will be treated as a disqualification.
• The Search Committee reserves the right to fill or not to fill the vacancy without assigning any reason.
