Experience

• Supervisor (Nesting): Minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in Nesting, related to Plate Processing / CNC Cutting / Production Planning / CAD-CAM in a Shipbuilding, Offshore Fabrication company, Marine related Engineering company, or Government / Semi-Government Company / Establishment. Out of 10 years, at least 2 years of experience must be in a Supervisory grade.
• Supervisor (Mechanical): Minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in Piping / Machinery / Structural outfitting functions in a Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, Offshore Fabrication company, Marine related Engineering company, or Government / Semi-Government Company / Establishment. Out of 10 years, at least 2 years of experience must be in a Supervisory grade.

The upper age limit prescribed for the posts shall not exceed 45 years as on 28 October 2026, meaning applicants should be born on or after 29 October 1981.

Monthly emoluments as on date include Basic Pay of ₹ 28,000, DA at 55.7% (₹ 15,596), HRA at 10% (₹ 2,800), and Perks & Allowances at 35% (₹ 10,500), bringing the total to ₹ 56,896. Additional benefits include National Pension System, Contributory Provident Fund, Accident Insurance coverage, Reimbursement of Medical expenses under Contributory Medical Insurance policy, and leave encashment.

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Selection Process

The selection process comprises Phase I (Offline Written test consisting of an Objective Type Test for 40 Marks and a Descriptive Type Test for 40 Marks) and Phase II (Power Point presentation on work experience for 20 Marks).

Phase I – Objective Type Test

The objective type test is of 45 minutes duration with 40 total questions carrying one mark each. There is no negative marking. The structure is detailed below:

Phase I – Descriptive Type Test

The descriptive type written test carries 40 marks and is of 90 minutes duration, comprising discipline-related questions.

Minimum Pass Marks

For Unreserved posts, candidates must secure a minimum of 50% of total marks. For ST candidates, the minimum pass mark is 40% of total marks.

Phase II – Power Point Presentation

Shortlisted candidates attend Phase II, which is a PowerPoint presentation of not more than 10 minutes highlighting their work experience.
