Grid Controller of India Limited (GRID-INDIA), a Miniratna-I & Schedule ‘A’ CPSE and a wholly owned Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, is a knowledge-based organization of national importance responsible for managing Power System Operations. It operates the National Load Despatch Centre and five Regional Load Despatch Centres, and is looking for bright, committed engineers to join as Executive Trainees.

GRID-INDIA Executive Trainee eligibility 2026 requires candidates to qualify GATE 2027 in the corresponding paper and hold the prescribed engineering qualification.

Final Year/Semester students who expect their final results by 14.08.2027 are also eligible, provided they have obtained 65% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all semesters/years up to the pre-final examination in their bachelor’s degree/IDD.

The upper age limit is 28 years as on 31.07.2027 (candidates should have been born on or after 01.08.1999). Only Indian Nationals of age 18 years or above are eligible to apply for GRID-INDIA.

GRID-INDIA Executive Trainee Salary 2026

Selected candidates will be placed at E2 level in the pay scale of Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000/- IDA for a period of one year during On-The-Job Training (OJT), along with other applicable allowances and benefits. Upon successful completion of training, Executive Trainees will be regularized at E2 level in the same pay scale of Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000/- IDA. The training period may be extended based on performance evaluation or at the discretion of the Management.

Upon regularization, the compensation package will also include Performance Related Pay, Company Leased Accommodation/Company Quarters or HRA, reimbursement of monthly conveyance expenditure, mobile facility, Group Insurance, Personal Accident Insurance, PF, Gratuity, Pension, Leave encashment, and other allowances and benefits as applicable. The Corporation also offers short and long-term Loans & Advances, including House Building Advance, and medical facilities for self and dependents.

GRID-INDIA Executive Trainee Service Agreement Bond

Selected Executive Trainees must execute a service agreement bond to successfully complete the prescribed training period and thereafter serve the organization for at least three years. The bond amount is Rs. 5,00,000/- for General/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates and Rs. 2,50,000/- for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

Selection for GRID-INDIA Executive Trainee posts is based on GATE 2027 score, followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

1. GATE 2027: Eligible candidates must appear in the Electrical Engineering (EE) paper or Computer Science and Information Technology (CS) paper of GATE 2027 and qualify as per marks declared by the GATE 2027 Organizing Institute.
2. Shortlisting for GD/PI: Qualified candidates shall be shortlisted category-wise for Group Discussion & Personal Interview based on their normalized marks (out of 100) in the corresponding GATE 2027 paper. Status can be checked via candidate login on GRID-INDIA’s Online Application System.
3. Behavioral Assessment: Candidates shortlisted for GD and PI may also have to undergo a Behavioral Assessment; its results are used only as an input during the interview and carry no qualifying marks.
4. Group Discussion: GD carries no qualifying marks, but is mandatory to attend.
5. Personal Interview: It is mandatory to appear in and qualify the Personal Interview for final shortlisting/empanelment.

Candidates who qualify the Personal Interview will only be adjudged suitable for empanelment. The offer of appointment will be issued in order of category-wise merit, based on requirement, and notified through the candidate login on the online application system. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to being found medically fit in the Pre-Employment Medical Examination conducted as per GRID-INDIA’s Norms and Standards of Medical Fitness. GRID-INDIA Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 – Important Instructions

• Only Indian Nationals of age 18 years or above are eligible to apply for GRID-INDIA.
• Essential qualification must be recognized in India and obtained from a recognized Institution or University.
• Candidates have the option of appearing in English or Hindi for GD/Interview.
• Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India and Abroad as per organizational requirement; no request for change in posting will be entertained for the first 5 years from the date of joining. Only candidates willing to serve at all GRID-INDIA locations should apply.
