HCL GM & DGM Vacancy Details 2026

A total of 10 vacancies have been announced across two grades and four disciplines. One post is reserved for the VH category under Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

Total: 4 General Manager (E8) posts and 6 Deputy General Manager (E7) posts. Mining discipline is not identified as suitable for PwBD candidates; PwBD categories are identified only for Human Resource, Finance, and Materials & Contracts disciplines, as detailed in the official notification.

HCL GM & DGM Eligibility Criteria and Qualification

Eligibility for HCL Recruitment 2026 depends on the discipline applied for. The essential qualification for each discipline is given below.

Equivalent qualifications are considered as per Government/UGC/AIU/AICTE guidelines. Where the qualification certificate does not mention the specialisation, or the nomenclature differs from what is prescribed, applicants must submit a Certificate of Specialisation or Certificate of Equivalence from their institute. A “Diploma” for eligibility purposes must be a Post-Graduate level course; if this is not explicitly reflected on the certificate, a Certificate of Equivalence is mandatory.

HCL GM & DGM Age Limit and Post-Qualification Experience

Age relaxation of 5 years is admissible for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for Ex-Servicemen, and as per Government of India guidelines for PwD candidates – applicable to external applicants, up to the extent that leaves a minimum residual service of 3 years before superannuation. Internal HCL employees applying on a regular basis do not have a maximum age limit, but must have completed at least one year of service in the next-below scale of pay and must meet the prescribed post-qualification experience.

Experience is counted only from the date of obtaining the essential qualification, must be in the relevant field (Mining/Metal/Manufacturing industry, or another industry with a supporting experience certificate and job description), and does not include teaching, research fellowship, internship, apprenticeship, consultancy, or academic project experience.

HCL GM & DGM Salary and Cost to Company (CTC)

Selected candidates will draw pay as per the IDA scale of the advertised grade, along with Dearness Allowance, perks and allowances, UG Allowance, NPS and PF employer contributions, PRP (as per DPE guidelines), gratuity, medical benefits, and leave encashment as per HCL rules.

Candidates from Government/CPSEs will be given pay protection (last drawn Basic pay and DA only), subject to their application being routed through proper channel or an NOC being submitted at the time of interview.

HCL GM & DGM Selection Process

Selection for HCL Recruitment 2026 is based solely on performance in the Personal Interview. There is no written examination mentioned in the notification.

• Candidates are shortlisted for Personal Interview in a ratio of 1:5, subject to a minimum of 10 candidates, or as decided by HCL.
• If applications received exceed the zone of consideration, shortlisting is done by awarding marks: 1 mark for every completed year of relevant experience beyond the minimum requirement, and up to 2 marks for additional higher qualification in the relevant discipline.
• In case of a tie, candidates from organisations with higher turnover are ranked higher.
• HCL reserves the right to interview more or fewer candidates than the standard ratio, and to add further shortlisting criteria if required.

How to Apply for HCL General Manager & Deputy General Manager Recruitment 2026

HCL Recruitment 2026 does not have an online application facility. Applications must be submitted offline in the prescribed format.

1. Download the prescribed application proforma (Annexure-I) from the official notification.
2. Fill the application (typed or neatly handwritten) completely, for each advertised post applied for.
3. Attach all supporting documents listed in Paragraph 10(iv) of the notification, establishing eligibility for qualification and experience. Candidates who prefer to submit an NOC at the time of interview may send the application without it, on a provisional basis.
4. Superscribe the envelope with the Post Name, Cadre, and Grade applied for.
5. Send the application by Registered Post/Speed Post/Courier only (no email, fax, or hand delivery accepted) to:

Candidates are advised to apply well in advance rather than waiting for the closing date, since incomplete applications, applications received after the deadline, or those not routed through the proper channel (for candidates from Government organisations/PSUs) are liable to be rejected.

Documents Required for HCL GM & DGM Document Verification

Candidates called for Personal Interview must carry original documents for verification, including:

• Date of Birth proof (10th Standard certificate or School Leaving Certificate)
• 12th Standard Passing Certificate/Mark Statement
• Graduate and/or Post-Graduate/Professional Qualification mark sheets and certificates
• Experience certificates for each declared organisation, along with supporting proof such as appointment letter, release letter, PF statement, Form-16, pay slips, and bank statements
• NOC and proof of parallel/next-below grade, if presently working in a PSU/Government organisation
• Caste/category certificate (SC/ST/OBC Non-Creamy Layer) or Disability Certificate for PwBD candidates, in the prescribed Government of India format
• Valid ID proof (Aadhaar/Driving Licence/Voter ID/Passport)

Non-production of original documents at the interview will debar the candidate from appearing for the interview.
