Posts and Eligibility

One post of Project Technical Support is to be filled. It is a PhD-track position: only candidates interested in pursuing a PhD in Nephrology (assessment of level of kidney function and related topics) may apply. The selected candidate is expected to appear for the eligibility exam conducted by JIPMER for enrolment in PhD (project track). The post-holder also supervises the project nurse’s work.

Essential Qualification

• MSc Biochemistry, MSc Pharmacology, MSc Dialysis Therapy Technology, MSc MLT in Biochemistry or MSc Nursing
• MPH with graduate level qualification in Nursing, Lab technology or Dialysis technology
• A graduate Medical Degree in Modern Medicine (MBBS, BDS) from a recognized university or equivalent institution

Preferable Experience

One year of experience in clinical research programs, in a role including study design, developing research protocol, preparing statistical analysis plan, compiling data, data cleaning, data analysis and manuscript writing. Applicants with research experience, good communication skills in Tamil and basic computer skills will be preferred.

Age Limit

The age should be less than 35 years as on 30-09-2026. The notice does not list any age relaxation.

Pay and Terms

The remuneration is INR 33,600/- (consolidated). Provident fund, HRA, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, medical claim and similar benefits are not applicable. The tenure is twelve months, which may be extended for the full project duration, on a purely temporary/contractual basis for the specified period and based on the project.

What Happens on the Day

Candidates report to the Department of Nephrology at 9.00 AM on 27-11-2026 with documents and certificates for verification. Candidates will be shortlisted by a written test. Shortlisted candidates are then called for an interview scheduled at 2.00 PM on 27-11-2026 at the Department of Nephrology. The notice gives the mode of recruitment as written test and skill test.

Important Instructions

• Only candidates who can join by 02-12-2026 need to apply, as the position is to be filled on an urgent basis.
• No TA/DA will be admissible to appear in the interview.
• The appointee shall be on a full time appointment for this project and shall not accept any other assignment, paid or otherwise, during the appointment.
• The appointment can be terminated at any time with one month’s notice without assigning any reason, or if the work is considered unsatisfactory by the competent authority.
• An appointee who wishes to resign has to serve one month’s notice or remit one month’s salary, proportionate to the shortfall in the notice period.
• The selected candidate will have no claim for regular appointment in JIPMER or continuation of service in any other project.
