Who Can Apply

Relevant Experience for Each Post

• Site Engineer – Rolling Stock Testing & Commissioning: minimum 02 years relevant experience (i.e. rolling stock testing, commissioning, inspection etc.) in Metro/Railways.
• Section Engineer – Signalling: minimum 04 years relevant experience (i.e. signalling systems supervision installation, testing, commissioning etc.) in Metro/Railways.
• Rolling Stock Expert – Electrical System: minimum 05 years relevant experience (i.e. electrical systems of rolling stock, including design review, inspection, testing and commissioning etc.) in Metro/Railways.
• Section Engineer – Third Rail & Power Supply & Substation: minimum 04 years relevant experience (i.e. third rail systems, traction power supply and substation installation, testing and commissioning etc.) in Metro/Railways.

The period of training (except on-the-job training), internship, teaching, academic, fellowship or PhD research experience is not counted as experience. Where a specialisation is required in the qualifying degree, the candidate must submit a certificate from the University/Institution clearly specifying it. The date of acquiring the qualification is the earliest of: the last day of the month of the final examination (or the exact examination date where stated), the date of declaration of result, the date of issue of the marksheet or the date of issue of the degree.

Age Limit

The age limit for all four posts is “Not exceeding 64 years”. Age, experience and all other eligibility criteria are reckoned as on the last date of submission of application, 29 November 2026. The notice lists no age relaxation.

Retired Government Servants

As per Rule 177 of GFR 2017, consulting services do not include direct engagement of retired Government servants, but a retired Government servant can be hired as consultant through a competitive process, only for specific tasks and a specific duration, and not against regular vacant posts.

Pay and Tenure

The payment for services is a fixed monthly amount per post (shown in the vacancy table). The notice also states:

• Tentative project/work duration is 12 months for each post; the initial tenure of engagement is 12 months, extendable based on the performance of the individual and/or requirement of the project.
• The engagement may be extended by one year at a time, on the same project only, subject to a satisfactory Annual Performance Review based on Key Performance Indicators. No extension is given beyond the age of 65 years.
• Where the contract is for more than one year, remuneration may be reviewed annually, based on the escalation received in the client’s fee for the previous year.
• Payment is released within one week after completion of the month, based on attendance registered. There are no statutory benefits such as PF/ESI/Gratuity.
• Income Tax is deducted at source with TDS certificates issued; Goods and Service Tax, as applicable, is admissible to the consultant.
• Leave is 1.5 days per completed month, with no accumulation beyond a calendar year; absence up to one month may be considered without remuneration. Women consultants may be eligible for maternity leave under the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017.
• No TA/DA is admissible for joining the assignment or on its completion.

The Individual Consultant has the legal status of an Independent Consultant and is not a staff member or official of RITES Limited; the appointment is of a temporary nature. RITES may terminate the contract at any time without notice or reason, but in the normal course gives one month’s notice; the consultant must also give one month’s notice to resign.

How to Apply for RITES Recruitment 2026

1. Open the Career Section of the RITES website, http://www.rites.com, and apply online in the registration format (a valid e-mail ID is essential).
2. Note down the “Registration No.” generated on top of the online form and quote it in all further communication with RITES.
3. Fill the “Identity Proof” details carefully; the same Identity Proof must be produced in original at later stages.
4. Upload clear scanned copies of all the documents listed below on the RITES website.
5. Fill the details under “Fill/ Modify Application Form” and submit the application before 29.11.2026 (till 23:00). Applications once submitted cannot be altered.
6. Print and sign the online application form containing the registration number, and bring it with the documents and a filled Annexure A at document verification/interview.

Candidates can apply for any number of vacancies. Hard copies of documents are not to be sent by post or courier.

Documents Required

Self-attested photocopies with originals, in this order from top to bottom:

• 1 Passport size Photograph
• High School certificate for proof of Date of Birth
• Certificates of Academic & Professional qualifications and statements of marks for all semesters/years (Xth, XIIth, Diploma/ Graduation/ Post-Graduation as applicable)
• Experience certificates from previous employers for the claims made in the application, and proof of different periods of experience (if applicable)
• Proof of Identity & Address (Passport, Voter ID, Driving License, Aadhaar Card etc) and PAN Card
• Any other document in support of candidature

For current employment, the experience certificate/joining letter with last 3 months’ salary slips or last financial year/latest Form 16 must be produced. For proof of CTC/salary, a copy of Form No. 16, Earning Card, salary slip, appraisal letter or other suitable document is required. The Annexure-A checklist additionally lists the 12th marksheet, post-graduation and PhD documents if any, last company relieving letter/experience certificate, NOC (for Govt./PSU employees), Aadhaar Card and 02 recent passport size colour photographs, along with blood group, marital status and category.

Selection and Interview

The mode of selection is interview only, preceded by document scrutiny.

• Document Scrutiny/verification: all candidates who submit the online application are provisionally allowed to appear; eligibility for the post applied is verified. Candidates must be present in person or online.
• Personal Interview: only eligible/shortlisted candidates appear. They are evaluated on technical skills, subject knowledge, experience, communication and interpersonal skills. RITES reserves the right to shortlist the number of candidates.
• Client approval: CVs of candidates found suitable are shared with the client; only those whose CVs are approved receive an Engagement Letter. Actual deployment depends on award of work/project/company requirement.

Document scrutiny and interview will be held at RITES Corporate Office, Shikhar, Plot No.01, Sector-29, Gurugram-122001, or through video conferencing/online, with the link sent to the registered email ID/official chat group. Originals with one set of photocopies must be brought for in-person scrutiny. No TA/DA is payable for attending the interview. Results will be uploaded on the RITES website, showing candidates as Suitable or Not found suitable.

Important Instructions

• Consultants on full-time basis may not take up any other assignment during the consultancy.
• Candidates working in any organisation, including Government Departments/PSU and departmental candidates of RITES, can join only after being properly relieved.
• Police verification is done as per MHA instructions; a negative report ends the contract immediately.
• RITES may require a Statement of Good Health from a recognized physician before work starts.
• Incorrect claims, suppression of facts or insufficient proof lead to rejection or termination, even after engagement.
