BMC Shikshan Sevak Vacancy 2026

The 935 vacancies for Shikshan Sevak 2026 are distributed across four streams:

Each stream carries its own category-wise reservation breakup (SC, ST, VJ-A, NT-B, NT-C, NT-D, SBC, OBC, EWS, SEBC, and Open), along with horizontal reservation for women (30%), ex-servicemen (15%), project-affected (5%), earthquake-affected (2%), sportspersons (5%), part-time graduates/educated unemployed (10%), orphans (1%), and persons with disabilities (4%). BMC Shikshan Sevak Qualification

Upper Primary Teacher, Classes 6–8 (Marathi/English medium) Relevant-subject Degree (min. 50%) + 2-year D.Ed or 1-year B.Ed in the relevant medium, OR 4-year B.El.Ed/B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed in the relevant medium. TET is compulsory.
Art (Chitrakala) Special Teacher 10th/12th pass + government-recognized degree/diploma in Painting, Fine Arts or Applied Arts; minimum 5 years’ teaching experience in a recognized institution; minimum 2 years’ experience conducting special art-exam classes.
Music (Sangeet) Special Teacher 10th/12th pass + government-recognized degree/diploma in Music (Sangeet Visharad, vocal, instrumental, dance, or instrumental music); minimum 5 years’ teaching experience; minimum 3 years’ experience preparing and conducting music programs.

All candidates must additionally have passed Marathi as a subject (minimum 100 marks in Marathi-medium schools, minimum 50 marks in other-medium schools) at SSC/HSC or equivalent level, and must hold an MSCIT (or government-recognized equivalent) computer certificate — candidates without it at the time of application must clear MSCIT within 2 years of appointment, failing which their service will be terminated.

BMC Shikshan Sevak Age Limit

Age is reckoned as on the TAIT 2025 examination period (27.05.2025 to 05.06.2025):

  • Open (unreserved) category: 18 to 38 years
  • Backward class categories: 18 to 43 years
  • Ex-servicemen: military service period + 3 years, subject to a maximum of 45 years (disabled ex-servicemen also capped at 45 years)
  • Project-affected / earthquake-affected candidates: up to 45 years
  • Sportspersons: 5-year relaxation, capped at a maximum of 43 years for any category
  • Part-time graduates (educated unemployed): up to 55 years
  • Orphan candidates: up to 43 years
  • Persons with disabilities (minimum 40% disability, certified): up to 45 years
  • Nominated dependents of freedom fighters: up to 45 years
  • No age limit applies to candidates already in BMC service, subject to a No Objection Certificate from their department head
  • Creamy-layer candidates within VJ/NT/SBC/OBC categories are not eligible for backward-class age relaxation

BMC Shikshan Sevak Application Fee

BMC Shikshan Sevak Salary

Selected candidates are appointed on a 3-year probationary period and must deposit a security amount equal to one month’s honorarium (refundable, interest-free, after probation) before joining.
