MECON Draftsman Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification and Experience (for Post Code 01)

• Diploma in Engineering with 3 years’ drafting experience in the relevant field in any organisation; OR
• ITI with 5 years’ drafting experience in the relevant field in any organisation; OR
• 12th/Intermediate pass with 7 years’ drafting experience in the relevant field in any organisation.

Other Qualification Conditions

• The Diploma in Engineering/ITI must be acquired through a Regular/Full Time course only.
• Candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the requisite educational qualification; 44.99% will not be rounded up to 45%.
• Where only grades (CGPA/OGPA/GGPA/SGPA) are awarded instead of percentage, candidates must mention the equivalent percentage and submit a grade-to-percentage conversion document from their University/Institute; on a 10-point scale, a grade of 4.5 is considered equivalent to 45%.
• The qualification must be from a University/Institute recognised by the Government or accredited by bodies such as UGC/AICTE/MCI/ICAI/ICSI.
• Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

Definition of Work Experience

• Experience must be of a relevant nature with a drafting/engineering organisation.
• For intermittent jobs, only the actual days engaged in relevant work are considered.
• Freelance experience is not considered, as it cannot establish a full-time job record.
• Entrepreneurial experience is not considered.
• Apprenticeship period under the Apprentices Act is considered towards required experience.

MECON Draftsman Age Limit

2. Upload a scanned recent passport-size colour photograph in jpg/jpeg format (not exceeding 40 KB).
3. Upload a scanned signature in blue/black ink pen, in jpg/jpeg format (not exceeding 40 KB).
4. Upload self-attested scanned copies (in PDF format) of: Matriculation/Secondary Board certificate for age proof; Final/Provisional Certificate for the requisite educational qualification; all semester/year mark sheets or consolidated mark sheet; Work Experience Certificates/supporting documents; and PAN Card and Aadhaar Card.
5. Merge multiple documents into a single PDF file not exceeding 1 MB before uploading.
6. Ensure the Aadhaar number entered matches the uploaded Aadhaar card; any mismatch, encryption, or password protection will lead to summary rejection.
7. Submit the application; no modifications are allowed after final submission, so review all details carefully beforehand.

No other mode of application submission is allowed, and no hard copies need to be sent by post; however, a hard copy of the online application must be submitted at the time of interview, if called.

MECON Draftsman Important Instructions

• Candidates must submit work experience certificates for all previous employments, clearly showing date of joining, date of relieving, and nature of duties; experience without a certificate will not be considered.
• For current employment, candidates must submit an Experience Certificate or Offer/Appointment Letter/Pay Slip/Identity Card along with the last 3 months’ pay slips as proof of continuity.
• Self-declarations regarding nature of job or experience will not be accepted.
• Candidates must produce all original certificates/documents before the interview; failure to do so means they will neither be interviewed nor paid TA.
• Outstation candidates eligible for interview will be reimbursed TA (III Tier AC/CC by rail, or ₹7 per km by road, or at actual, whichever is less) by the shortest route, subject to production of tickets/receipts and a filled TA form with bank details.
• Furnishing wrong/false information or uploading illegible/overwritten documents will lead to disqualification; if discovered at any stage, even after an empanelment contract is issued, it will be cancelled.
