About IISER Mohali

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali is an Institute of National Importance in Punjab. According to the notice, the Government of India, Ministry of Education (erstwhile MHRD), established it in 2007 to carry out research in frontier areas of Science and provide quality science education and research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The institute is seeking dedicated, committed and qualified citizens of India for these two contract posts.

Posts and Eligibility

Counsellor

• Educational qualification: Master’s degree (with 50%) in Psychology (Clinical or Counselling) or Social Work (Medical & Psychiatric) with practical experience.
• Experience: 5 years’ experience in counselling students with regard to their academic and psychosocial and emotional issues in any reputed academic Institute or a reputed organization.
• The single post is for the Unreserved (UR) category.

Junior Engineer (Civil)

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with first class from a recognized University / Institute, with at least 5 years of field experience in Civil works of construction / maintenance / renovation of building projects.
• OR Diploma in Civil Engineering with first class from a recognized University / Institute, with at least 8 years of field experience in the same kind of Civil works.
• Under both options, the experience is preferably in organizations / firms dealing with works as per CPWD / PWD / Govt. norms.
• The single post is for the OBC category. The OBC-NCL certificate should have been issued within 2 years of the last date of receipt of the application, in the Government of India format.

• The originals of all relevant certificates, for verification.
• One self-attested copy of the certificates, to be deposited.

What Happens on the Day

Candidates report at 09:30 a.m. on 16 November 2026, and the interview is at 10:00 a.m. Only candidates reporting well on time on the schedule are considered for the hiring process. Important Instructions

• Applicants must be fully satisfied about their eligibility before attending; no query on eligibility criteria will be entertained.
• The appointment is on contract. The selected person is not entitled to any benefit, compensation, absorption or regularization of service in the Institute.
• The appointee is not eligible for any other allowance or incentive.
• The service may be terminated at any time by written notice of not less than 15 days from either side, or remuneration in lieu. Other terms will be in the letter of appointment.
• No TA/DA is admissible for attending the selection process or joining the Institute.
• The Appointing Authority may accept or reject any application, or defer or cancel the advertisement partly or completely at any stage without giving reasons, and no correspondence will be entertained.
