A walk-in interview will be held on 21 November 2026, with enrolment from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM only, at Palas Sabhagar, Office of Conservator of Forest, Plantation, Research & Evaluation, Block -B, Van Bhavan, Doranda, Ranchi-834002 Jharkhand. The Office of the Conservator of Forest Plantation Research & Evaluation, Jharkhand, Ranchi, under the Department of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Government of Jharkhand, will fill 6 temporary project posts under Advertisement No. R-1/2026-27: one Research Associate, two Senior Project Associates, two Project Associates and one Lab Technician, with pay from Rs. 20,000/- to Rs. 58,000/- + 18% HRA per month depending on the post.

About the Recruiting Office and the Project

The Office of the Conservator of Forest, Plantation, Research & Evaluation, Jharkhand, Ranchi is an office of the Department of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Government of Jharkhand, located at Van Bhawan, Doranda, Ranchi-834002. The posts are for the project “Identifications and mapping of Candidate Plus Trees and Seed Production Areas of indigenous tree species in Jharkhand and subsequent establishment of seed testing lab and seed processing Unit, (CPT’s)”, which has a project period of 4 years. Of the two Senior Project Associate posts and the two Project Associate posts, one each is for the Seed Processing Unit and one each for the Seed Testing Lab.

Posts and Eligibility

Research Associate

Essential educational qualification:

• M.Sc. in Agriculture (Seed Science & Technology/Plant Breeding) OR
• M.Sc. in Forestry/M.Sc. in Botany with experience in Seed Science & Technology.
• First Class or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average.
• Candidates with 3 years bachelor’s + 2 years master’s must have UGC/ CSIR/ ICAR/ ICFRE NET or Ph.D. in above disciplines.

Desirable qualification and experience:

• 4-year work experience in research and development in seed testing labs or seed processing units.
• Experience and willingness to work in forest with the forest communities.
• Good knowledge in drafting research articles, formal reports and computer application.

Senior Project Associate

Essential educational qualification:

• M.Sc. in Agriculture (Seed Science & Technology/Plant Breeding) OR
• M.Sc. in Forestry/M.Sc. in Botany with experience in Seed Science & Technology.
• First Class or 60% marks or equivalent grade.

Desirable qualification and experience:

• 2 Year work experience in research and development in seed testing labs or seed processing units.
• Good understanding of forestry application and data compilation.

Project Associate

Essential educational qualification: B.Sc in Agriculture Or B.Sc in Forestry Or B.Sc in Botany. Desirable qualification and experience: experience in seed collection, field data recording, computer operations, and MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).

Lab Technician

Essential educational qualification: B.Sc in Agriculture Or B.Sc in Forestry Or B.Sc in Botany. Desirable qualification and experience: work experience in laboratory analysis of samples & data, data recording, analysis and computer knowledge.

Other Conditions

• Candidate should be medically fit to work in different forest areas of the State of Jharkhand.
• Proficiency in computer application, especially MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point), may be an added benefit to the candidate.

Salary

For every post, the notice prints the emoluments with the words “for 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th Year”. HRA at 18% is paid on top of the stated amount. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process

Candidates appear before a selection committee for an interview. A qualifying test (written) may be conducted before the interview. The notice does not describe the syllabus or the marks of this test.

3. Sit the qualifying written test, if the office conducts one.
4. Attend the interview, which starts at 11:30 AM.

Terms of Appointment

• The post is purely contractual and co-terminus with the project, with no provision for regularisation.
• The initial appointment will be for one year or up to the project period (as the case may be).
• The project period is 4 years.
• The Conservator of Forest, Plantation, Research & Evaluation reserves the right to cancel or postpone the interview and to terminate the contract even before the completion of the project; no appeal shall be entertained.
