IIT Indore Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online

A Project Assistant (PA) is wanted for the project “Connecting Communities to Science and Innovative Technologies for Wastewater Treatment and Renewable Sources of Energy Strategies to Achieve Environmental Sustainability”, funded by the NCSTC Division, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore. The fellowship is Rs. 37,000/- monthly, consolidated, for an initial 5 months or till project completion, whichever is earlier. About IIT Indore Project Assistant

The Project Assistant will work in a project of the Indian Institute of Technology Indore that aims to connect communities to science and innovative technologies for wastewater treatment and renewable sources of energy, with environmental sustainability as its goal. Essential Qualifications

• Educational degree: M.Tech./M.Sc. in any of the following (or related fields): Biology/Biotechnology/Environmental Science/Life Sciences/Earth Sciences, other allied fields.
• Core knowledge: Basic understanding of Water Quality, Environmental Pollution and Bioremediation, Renewable Sources of Energy, and Environmental Sustainability.
• Skills: Good communication skills (both Hindi and English), and expertise in writing project report and documentation.

Desirable Qualifications

• GATE qualified in relevant discipline.
• Knowledge in wastewater treatment, environmental monitoring and renewable energy technologies.
• Prior experience in research projects, report writing, or publications.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and handle fieldwork in remote locations.

GATE is listed as desirable, not essential. The age limit is not specified in the notice. Candidates should check the official notification for the discipline-specific eligibility of the post.

Pay and Tenure

• The fellowship is Rs. 37,000/- monthly, consolidated as per norms.
• The initial appointment will be for 5 months or till project completion, whichever is earlier.
• The fellowship may be terminated with a 30-day notice before completion of the tenure if performance to date is not deemed satisfactory.
• The appointment will be governed by the terms and conditions of the Institute/funding agency particularly applicable to the project, as and when required.
• The selected candidate must join duty immediately upon receipt of the offer.

The notice states that the PI shall not be responsible for email delay, if any, or any other reason for non-receipt of the document at the specified time, which will result in disqualification/rejection of the application.

Selection and Interview

Applications are shortlisted, and shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview on Monday, 16 November 2026 at 11:00 AM, in online mode only. The Google Meet link will be shared only with the shortlisted candidates before the interview date.

If the number of shortlisted candidates called for the interview is large, the selection committee may decide to restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit after considering qualifications and experience over and above the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. The decision of the selection committee will be final.
