• Members of Women Neighbourhood Groups, Maithri Sanghams and other Self-Help Groups, including of marginalized / vulnerable groups
• Educated prisoners with good behaviour, serving long term sentence in prison
• Any other persons whom the District Legal Services Authority deems fit to be identified as Para-Legal Volunteers

Minimum educational qualification

The PLVs shall be literate, preferably matriculate, with a capacity for overall comprehension. Candidates should check the official notification for the full eligibility conditions.

Remuneration

Selection Process

The selection of Para-Legal Volunteers shall be made as per the “Empanelment Process” of the NALSA Scheme. The number of PLVs to be empanelled will be decided as per the proper requirement, assessing:

• Punctuality
• Integrity

This assessment follows the Scheme for Para Legal Volunteers (Revised) and the NALSA module for the orientation-induction-refresher courses for PLV training. The Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any application for expression of interest without assigning any reason.

• Empanelment is for a tenure of one year from the date of empanelment.
• A PLV shall be disqualified and removed from the panel if he/she fails to evince interest in the scheme.
• A PLV shall be disqualified and removed if he/she has been adjudged insolvent, or has been accused of an offence.
• A PLV shall be disqualified and removed if he/she has become physically or mentally incapable.
• A PLV shall be disqualified and removed if he/she has so abused his/her position or misconducted in any manner as to render his/her continuance prejudicial to the public interest, or is an active political enthusiast of a political party.
• Any such PLV may be removed by the Chairman, DLSA after suitable enquiry, and intimation is to be sent to the State Legal Services Authority.
