Posts, Eligibility and Pay

Educational and Other Qualifications:

• A person having special knowledge or practical experience in respect of matters relating to rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities;
• If he/she is in service under the Central Government or a State Government or any other Organization, he/she shall seek retirement from such service before his appointment to the post; and
• He/She must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and must achieve a minimum score in the qualifying test of Mizo language Proficiency as prescribed by the Government from time to time.
• Desirable: Master’s degree from a recognized Institution in Social Work/Law/Management/Human Rights/Rehabilitation/Education of Persons with Disabilities.

Experience:

Should have at least ten (10) years experience in one or more of the following types of Organizations at specified levels:

• In a Group ‘A’ level post in Central/State Government/Public Sector Undertaking/Semi Government/Autonomous Bodies/Educational Institution/Registered National/International level Organizations dealing with disability related matters; or
• A senior level functionary in a Registered National or International level Voluntary Organization working in the field of disability/ social development for at least 10 years; or
• Senior Executive position in a leading private sector organization, involved in social work and in charge of handling social development activities of the organization for at least 10 years;
• Out of the total 10 years experience mentioned above, at least three years of experience in the immediate past should have been in the field of empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

Age Limit:

In order to be eligible for appointment as the Commissioner, a person should not have attained the age of sixty two (62) years as on the last date for receipt of applications.

• Self-attested copy of supporting document like HSLC, Birth Certificate, etc. for date of birth.
• Self-attested copy/copies of educational qualification certificates.
• Details of post(s)/ designation held during the last 10 years in chronological order (enclose separate sheet, if necessary).
• Any additional information which you would like to mention in support of your suitability for the post (additional academic qualifications, professional training, work experience, etc. – separate sheet may be enclosed if necessary).
• Copy of the order of imposition of penalty by the Disciplinary Authority, if penalty/ criminal case, if any, was imposed on the applicant during a period of 5 years preceding last date for submission of application.
